Very Merry x-mass party parade at 8:3o

i have tickets for 12/9/16(Friday) VMCP for 2 adults and 2 kids (2 and 5 years old). What time do we have to sit at the Main Street to make sure we have the seating front spots on the street? Is half an hour before the parade starts ( so at 8 pm ) enough? And can just one person sit there and " reserve "for the other adult and the kids or is it not allowed and all 4 of us need to stay put there entire time to make sure we have the spots? Is there any way to reserve ( pay in advance) for VIP seating for the x-mass parade? Do they offer VIP seating / dining package for x-mass party like they offer for fantasy parade?

You can do the Holiday dessert party, which has reserved viewing for the parade and for the fireworks. It's a bit pricey though. $89 per adult, I think. Not sure about kids.

Otherwise, for the 8:30, yeah, prepare to camp out at least 30 minutes, probably more, if you want a good spot on Main Street (where it will snow). Or, if your little ones can stay up late enough, try for the second parade of the night, which is said to be less crowded.

Keep in mind, I've never been, just offering the tips I've heard/read many, many times.

We were at the party on November 10 and we hit Main Street at 7:50 looking for a spot for the parade. We would have been so far back, we just decided to take the chance that our 5 year old could make it to the second parade. We ended up watching Wishes in the Hub and then made our way down Main Street and got a front row seat with no problem.

I'd say you need at least an hour of camping out time.

I don't think anyone would tell you it's "not allowed" for one person to save enough space for 4, but I'm not sure how one would physically do it without other people just filling in around him.

Any advice on how early for the second parade? We will be there 12/18 so I'm expecting a "full house" but we hate giving up too much party time sitting on the curb of Main Street.
Also, is the snow only on Main Street?
