Very Merry D23 Holidaze Dec 2009 TR - 7 magical park days! updt 7/1

After the MVMCP parade, I started to walk up Main Street and got to see the Holiday Dapper Dans....

PC028.jpg

did i scare this guy?
PC030.jpg

I'm thinking they were singing the same songs I already had or I'm sure I would have recorded it.

..and it was indeed snowing on Main Street!

this pic was supposed to show snow & smoke coming from the chimney
PC026.jpg

Then it was time for the spectacular 9:15pm showing of Holiday Wishes. Disney knows how to do fireworks right. It was amazing!

I was also able to meet up with a fellow D23er, lurklyloo & her hubby.

VIDEO: Holiday Wishes

Afterwards.....

Afterwards.....I went on more rides!

I went on Pirates – it had a bit of a line!

I tried to get a decent shot of this HM (I didn't forget about the HMs!) on the lock of the guncase in the queue...
PC054.jpg

I exited Pirates to find these guys!
PC056.jpg

Off to Swiss Family Robinson for some night views! It was such a different view than the daytime. Plus, the Treehouse itself was lit up.

Of course, being so close, I could not resist a Dole Whip! it was holiday colors of pink & yellow!

PC068.jpg

I then went back to D23 private hospitality on the steamboat in Liberty Square to relax a bit with my Dole Whip, but got stopped by the second holiday parade but this time I saw it from the very beginning of the route in Frontierland. I was able to get some different photos this time.

It was nice to be able to see it again, I wasn't expecting that!

I arrived at the steamboat, and got some hot chocolate and rice krispy treat - it's a christmas tree! Love those things. I relaxed, talked a bit with other D23ers.

PC140092.jpg

After I had my fill of treats, I continued on to see the Totally Tomorrowland Christmas show.

On the way....

love these signs indicating treats!

full shot
PC140094.jpg

...and came across this guy....

PC140098.jpg

The Tomorrowland Christmas show was cute, but nothing to write home about. I never did make it to see the Forecourt show, which probably was a better idea. I probably could have seen the 11:20pm Forecourt show and booked it over to see Totally Tomorrowland show at 11:45pm as there wasn’t lot of traffic that would have impended me.

Whilst waiting for show to start....

At this point, it was after midnight, so I make my way to Main Street.....

As make my way to Main Street...I decide to what the heck, why not, take more PP shots!!

With the Castle
Image0322.jpg

I asked for a "closer Castle" shot
Image0324.jpg

then I went two feet and did another one from the other way!
Image0328.jpg

I made my way slowly out (very very slowly....) and take pics along the way.....

PC140126.jpg

PC140130.jpg

..and it started to snow down Main Street....

...and a beautiful last image! *heart*

After making my very extremely slow way out, I made it back to POR after 1am, but I didn’t have to wait long for a bus. I literally fell into bed since I was up for 19 hours! :eek: Enjoyed every minute!!

And this, my friends, ends the Disney portion of my trip. :wizard:

Thank you for joining me on this wonderful journey. :grouphug:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I did stay in FL for a couple more days to visit with my BF and goddaughter (we did go to DTD!)
The most exciting thing after this was driving by Tiger Woods home (on the way to my BFF's house 40 minutes from Orlando) and I didn’t even know it! All I thought was, wow, there’s a lot of traffic and news vans. D’oh! For me, it was like home, so I didn’t see the problem.
I will try to add to this TR with the (technical) non-disney part of the trip and post the things I bought like the MVMCP and the vinylmations.
Do you know what this means? The March 2010 TR can now commence!!!!
What a great report! I absolutely loved seeing the pictures of the party--it helped me relive some great hours in December!
Thanks again!
I am still very jealous of all of your D23 perks!! So happy to re-live them through your pics.
Your snacks looked super yummy.
Thank you SO much for the video of holiday Wishes!! How cool is that...I can not wait!! :woohoo: Your info has been so helpful to me. I see that your MVMCP date was December 13th. We are booking December 14th this year, so I am sure it will be quite similar. Can't wait to read more popcorn::
Thanks so much for sharing your trip with us! I loved seeing all your pics and reliving our own trip!
Thank you all!!! :goodvibes
I think I will continue with the non-Disney Disney part and will post some of my shopping. Perhap even some final thoughts. I did update the first few posts of this PTR/TR, so it doesn't look so dated.
I will also commence with the March 2010 trip shortly. Please see link in my sig. :cloud9:
excellent trip! I hope we cam ,ake it there this winter.
So with the MVMCP where do you get bracelets if you are already at the park?
sorry! had a bit of a pity party over Mother's Day......but back to the grind!
I will hopefully have "final thoughts" and updated Post 1 tonight. :goodvibes
Everyone is entitled to a "pity party" occasionally. Hope you are feeling better today :hug:
Looking forward to your final thoughts! :)
Looking forward to your final thoughts! :)
Thank you. :goodvibes
I wasn't able to post thoughts last night as I got an email from a colleague at my old office about a new position. So, I spent most of last night applying for it. I'm surprised they didn't want to take a blood sample and fingerprints. :lmao:
I did, however, was able to start updating the front page with direct links to the individual posts in the TR. Boy, do I have alot! I do give people fair warning, though. :rotfl: :wizard:
I also did start transcribing my notes for the March TR. I was also ble to upload the first days of photos last night, so I'm getting there!
Thanks I need all the good vibes I can get. Free dining pins are starting to go for Dec...lets hope one floats my way!
Updated page 1 with direct links to the TR part of the combo PTR/TR.
Just need to finish the last 2 days, final thought and some last retail photos......
The March 2010 photos have been uploaded; and the first day almost transcribed. :thumbsup2
way back when....my 2nd post on this thread!
Let's see how I did! :thumbsup2 will mark it as successful!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have a Wish List of things to do. Obviously, I can't do all of it. Or maybe I can, I don't know. :confused3

In any case, it's definitely going to be a bit more difficult to do things, since I'm staying off-site. No EMH.

Unless things change, which it might, being almost 5 months away.

Here's the Wish List: :flower3:
Candlelight Processional, Epcot :thumbsup2
Keys to the Kingdom tour, Magic Kingdom :thumbsup2
Tour the deluxe Disney hotels :thumbsup2
Segway Natur by Design tour, Epcot :thumbsup2
Animal Kingdom, Night Hours (Disney hotel stay only, so that is gone for now)
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party :thumbsup2 (D23)
Spectromagic, Magic Kingdom :thumbsup2

Parks:
Backlot Tour, HS :thumbsup2
Hall of Presidents, MK :thumbsup2
Riverboat, MK :thumbsup2 (well, sorta)
Tom Sawyer Island, MK :thumbsup2
American Experience, Epcot :thumbsup2
Jungle Parade, AK :thumbsup2

Outside of Disney, I would like to see Leu Gardens.
In Tampa, I would like to visit Big Cat Rescue.

I also want to attempt more Rope Drops, but it would have to be on non-EMH days since I will not be staying on-site. Boo-Hooooooo!!!

UPDATE AFTER TRIP: so, I really did make some headway into my to-do list. YAY!! :woohoo:

Same as above, :thumbsup2 marks it done!

Dining Wish List:
Cinderella's Royal Table :thumbsup2
Tea at the Grand Floridian
Crystal Palace
Teppan Edo

For Counter Service:
Columbia Harbour House :thumbsup2
Starring Rolls :thumbsup2 (it was a super quickie tho!)
Main St Bakery :thumbsup2

Yay, I'm finally all caught up with your TR. :goodvibes Now I can start reading your March one! :woohoo: I think there were a lot more things I wanted to respond to, lol, but this is all I remember, haha.

I went on Buzz and got the red card! Whoo! Super cute. My ride pics, however, did not come out well. I think Disney does that on purpose, LOL! I wish they would add ride pics to Photopass.

I'm one of the few that almost always buy the ride pic. What can I say, I'm a photo addict. :lmao: But this past trip I decided not to get the Buzz one since I have enough of those pics, lol, plus I had just bought 2 separate Splash pics. I had the hardest time getting a pic of the screen! I don't know how people get good shots of it. ;) I love how Test Track adds the ride pic to Photopass, wish the other rides would add that. How hard could it be?

And also, this is the end of the parade route, so we had to wait forever for it to come.

However, it was an excellent viewing spot (after I actually found where it was) and the CMs did a good job of chasing all other away. LOL! I did get a chance to talk to the other D23 weekend people.

This is where I usually watch the night parades from, I love this spot! I'd be annoyed if they tried to chase me out of there ;) I loved the parade! The Christmas & Halloween parades are just amazing!!
