Very Merry D23 Holidaze Dec 2009 TR - 7 magical park days! updt 7/1

party::bday:party:

Hope you have a great day!

Happy Birthday!

:cake:

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

:thanks: :thanks: :thanks:

:disrocks: :disrocks: :disrocks:

I hopefully will be able to update you with a pictorial of the birthday day as well as get up an update of the TR today!!!

I meant to do it last night, but I was exhausted. I had a 16 hour day that included babysitting a very difficult CJ.

So, the last time I was with you, I was finishing up my Segway tour, riding a few rides, took a few PP at Epcot and on my way to Magic Kingdom to make my ADR at The Plaza!

I got to MK fairly quickly. I have to say having a car was very easy. For some reason, I thought it would stress me out. Nope, I was all good. If you are planning to have a car, consider downloading mousesavers.com custom Disney POI.

Thankfully, this time, I knew where to park for Diamond parking; I ended up in Sleepy 72/73 (yes, I write down every single detail in case it’s useful for anyone!). It a bit further away, but still very walkable.

Of course, I stopped for a PP in front of the train station ;) as well as taking a few area pictures. Ain’t it grand?

After, I entered the park and walked up Main Street, continuing to take pictures. The garland is back up!

I checked the time and it was 1:12pm, so I moved pace to get to The Plaza, which is located at the end of Main Street.

My ADR was for 1:20pm, however, I did not get seated until 1:55pm. Initially, I was a little off-put since my schedule would be off, but I just calmed down, took a seat and just enjoyed it. I took pics of outside The Plaza and was able to enjoy a bit of the Dreaming with Mickey show and the Dapper Dans!

I was finally seated at 1:55pm; since I knew what I wanted, I ordered a cheesesteak and a coffee. The place is very pretty inside and so small. I did get a few looks whilst taking pictures, but I didn’t care! LOL!

finally in the plaza..place is GORGEOUS! small too.
1:55 PM Dec 8th

The Plaza is very glided and gold, mirrors everywhere.

I got my receipt at 2:35pm and it was $17.03 total with tip. So, I was in and out of there quick! Service was decent and it is a bit of a tight squeeze. The food was fine, no complaints.

For my last 5 minutes or so, a couple came in with their infant in a big ‘ol stroller. Oiy, that was something.

I finish, pay my bill and head out to the wonderfulness of the Magic Kingdom!!

I missed out on trying this place for the first time this trip...one day.

All caught up after being MIA for about a week! Did you get the D23 case online at thedisneystore.com? That would be great to have to hold my D23 magazines!! :thumbsup2

:woohoo: for a sunny day!
Love the Pp pic! You look so cute and I love the border too!
I never realized that the Plaza was so small! We're trying it for the first time on our trip :)
Looking forward to more!

Great pics! It's really pretty there at Christmas time.

I don't think I'd have waited 35 minutes for coffee and cheesecake, you are more patient than I am. And....$17 for coffee and cheesecake?!?! Are you serious? That is outrageous!

I like hearing about your experience driving there. I have not yet rented a car at WDW but I've thought about it for a future trip.

It was nice and very Victorian. I liked it alot.

I got the case as part of D23's Magic & Merriment. Now,I can't find the link they gave us to purchase it. I hope they give us an ooportunity to buy Vol 2 case as well.

It's very teeny tiny; beautiful but tiny.

You are doing some great ADRs on your trip! :thumbsup2

Yes, Christmas time was lovely!

I was listening to the show and Dapper Dans, so I calmed down a bit, but I was a little annoyed at the beginning. I did remind them several times my ADR time had passed.

The $17 included tip and it didn't sound that bad to me. :rotfl: Maybe I'm used to NY prices? It was coffee and cheesesteak; I definitely would not pay that amount for cheesecake! It was good, but nothing to brag about.

Going to try to get another post up!

Hiya all!

I thought I would give you a bit of a pictorial of my birthday day....:cake:

I opened my eyes that morning and tore into my gifts sent to me from Florida by my goddaughter.

I got some lovely jewelry & sweaters, in which I did not take a picture of. :confused3

Then I opened my birthday cards and loved this fab one I rec'd from a friend of mine that I totally did not expect at all. I was SO surprised!
BdayCard.jpg

This is the collection with a special guest; I accidentily left out my aunt's..but imagine another one with "Niece" written across it..
BdayCards.jpg

I decided not to have a frugal budget day, so I bought (gasp!) my breakfast AND (gasp! again) lunch from Starbucks on my way to work.

My birthday breakfast feast
BfastBday.jpg

The spinach wrap was delicious! I also tried the skinny cinnamon dolce latte and it was disguisting. Totally not worth it without the fat. LOL! The donut came from my co-worker. :goodvibes

My birthday lunch feast
LunchBday.jpg

The sandwich is chicken with cranberry sauce and it was delish as well as the pumpkin bread.

so, the actual day went quite well with a number of text, facebook friends giving me well wishes and a few calls.

This is also my father's 71st birthday as well. :littleangel:

Later that night, I went to babysit CJ and my sister got me these
FlowersfromSis.jpg

For those of you wanting to know, CJ is doing better and is happy with all his activities. He is enrolled in an after-school program (we are thrilled!) with tae kwon do and he is builing his muscles and strength. He really enjoys it and I liked the master of the school alot.

He also has basketball league (not special ed!). His coaches and other parents are WONDERFUL! We could not be more thrilled and CJ loves it!. We also manged to secure a behaviorist, social skill classes and a therapist for him. So, he is a very busy boy. My social calendar is nearly as packed as his!

On this particular day, when I went to pick up CJ, we had a big meltdown. He didn't finish his homework and he knew he wold get it trouble. As soon as I walked in, it was danger zone. So, he throw a legendary fit. After he finished, we had to wait because I wasn't about to drive with him in a rage. So, we clamed and I drove to my sister's house. As a consequence, he did not go to his basketball game that night.

However, he did well during the night, because we gave him a choice to stop and think about what he was going to do next. Either deal with his consequence or he could have another fit and take on more consequences. I am very proud to say that he accepted our decision and was calm for the rest of the night. This is great progress as his fits are not as routine as it once was and he is finally understanding that these fits will get him nothing - and he holds in wat happens in his future.

All in all, not a bad day. :goodvibes

The last I left you I finished my ADR at The Plaza. Afterwards, I repaired to the bathroom and as I came out, I was greeted with this!

PC081005.jpg

Isn’t this awesome! How random and cool! As I took a pic, the CM asked if I liked it and I answered that I thought it was wonderful.

I went toward the hub to head into Fantasyland and ……

I met…..

PUSHCAN!!!!! I was so shocked! And he talked to me! He asked me where I was from and I said “New Jersey” and he responded, “I cause Old Jersey wasn’t good enough”. It was hysterical!

And I got it on video, he thought I was taking a photo and came right toward me. I LOVED IT!!

PC081006.jpg

PC081007.jpg

I was so enthralled that I didn't even see anyone controlling Pushcan. LOL!!

just met tomorrowland's pushcan! so exciting. he talked to me! said old jersey wasn't good enough for me. lol
2:58 PM Dec 8th

So, the late ADR totally made it worth it between the Mickey on the Ground and meeting Pushcan, plus getting to listen to the Dapper Dans. I would not have done any of those things if the ADR was on time.

Afterwards, of course, I stopped for a PP. ;) However, theirs was really quite bad, so I’m going to post the one the PP took with my camera. Trust me, it’s much better.

PC081010.jpg

At this point, it is bit after 3pm and heading into Fantasyland. I sent out a few tweets.

Plaza was very good. had cheesesteak & coffee.
3:12 PM Dec 8th

dessert will be a dole whip after i visit with the swiss family robinsons.
3:13 PM Dec 8th

I visted Cinderella’s Fountain and got some shots with her crown on. I’m sure people were thinking what the holy heck is she doing crouching down and taking a photo there. I bet someone after me went to do it and saw she is wearing the crown. LOL!

PC081012.jpg

PC081013.jpg

I fastpassed Peter Pan and then went to my fav Mickey’s PhilharMagic, one of my ultimate favs! I think I've been on this multiple times during my trip. :thumbsup2

Then I sent out a ‘where am i?’ tweet.

3:34 PM Dec 8th
jey

and then headed off to catch Princess Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee!! :yay:

Isn't it the special little details that sets WDW apart? I love the suprise of the Mickey on the ground or running into a talking can or getting the picture just right so the crown fits! Looks like a fun afternoon! And just think, next week you'll be back there :yay:

So, off I go to make sure I see the Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee since I saw the parade during my KTTK tour the other day. I stationed myself on the bridge across from the Moutains. I was told by a CM at some point this is where the boat stops and does the show.

waiting on tiana's jubilee...i hear the music coming!
3:47 PM Dec 8th

While anticipating the show (already saw the movie earlier in special showing NYC during Thanksgiving weekend!), the people around me were nice enough, but definitely not feeling the magic. And the amount of pushing & shoving by teenagers was unacceptable, so they got a bit of a lecture from me. All of them did apologize, I’m happy to report.

Onward!

After this fab performance, I continue my magical trek.....

Great pictures of Tiana's Jubilee and I :lovestruc the video! That was my favorite song from the movie :thumbsup2 Thanks for sharing!

It is called Nature by Design and it is described like something in-between Un-discovered World and Behind the Seeds tours.

DH would love this! He did the World Showcase segway tour in 2007 and said it was great! I'll have to ask him if he would like me to book this for our next trip.

The Plaza is very glided and gold, mirrors everywhere.

The pictures you took are beautiful! It's on my ADR list for November! :thumbsup2

Loved the pics of the Showboat Jubilee!

Happy belated birthday!

Michelle I am so, SO glad to hear about all the good things going on with CJ. I am just so happy for him, and your family, that this placement has been the best thing that could have ever happend to him!

I envy you, this is not the first time I have said this. I feel like if I went childless I could just enjoy taking it all in - not feeling like a frazzeled mess! I live that you got to meet PUSH, and see the watermark - AWESOME, Cinderella with the crown - priceless! Jealous that you got to see the P&TF parade AND boat show! Madi hadn't seen the movie when we went (as seen it a bunch since!) so we skipped - Bad mommy, go stand in the corner!

Happy Belated Birthday - mine is Friday - GO PISCES!

P.S. - doing a mini trip "review" in my PTR thread... check it out, Day 2 will be posted this weekend :)

Oh, definitely book! It was beyond great!!! Tell him to read my review. I don't think it is in great demand, so you probably don't have to book 90 days out.

The Plaza was very good; I liked it alot.
I'm glad you liked the pics.
Thank you for your belated birthday wishes! :goodvibes

Awesome pics! We missed the show several times, but I LOVED the movie!

I had to make sure I saw it this time around, especially since it was on a limited run. It was a nice show; I could do without the rowdy teeenagers.

Thank you for your kind words about CJ. It's usually 2 steps ahead, 1 step back, but progress is progress!

Push and watermark were total disney karma. Had my ADR at The Plaza been ontime then I totally would have missed it (along with Dapper Dans)! Maybe it was my ":thank you" for calming down and taking it all in....

Cinderella & the Crown is just a visit to her fountain. And crouching down and looking ridiculous to people you will never see again!! :lmao:

I enjoyed P&tF greatly too, so I am very happy that I was able to see parade and the boat show. THe parade was thanks to the KTTK tour. :)

Happy Belated Birthday to YOU too!!!:wizard: :wizard:
I'm actually an Aquarian.

Ok, now that I slacked off for the last 3 days, I'm goignt o try to get a few updates up today.

Thank you all for keeping up. I can't believe howe long it is taking for me to get this report done!!!

I am finished with Tiana’s Showboat Jubilee and enjoyed it so much. I had a great view, got great pictures and was with fairly decent people around me. I don’t think one can ask for much more in a free-standing crowd.

I headed to Haunted Mansion; I tried to get decent pictures in the dark, but only a few really came out decent.

PC080031.jpg

In case, I didn't tell you before there is also a HM on the dinner table during the ballroom scene. It hard to take your eyes off the dancing, I know!

After Haunted Mansion, I headed off to Winnie the Pooh

PC080035.jpg

Then hit up Peter Pan's flight via my FP for 4:40pm
FP for 4:40pm.

I took some scenic pictures on my way to Pirates of the Caribbean. I was able to get a decent shot of Johnny.

Next up: a meetup with The Robinsons!

After pirating, I wanted to get my adventure on at the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse. I really like this attraction. You have great views; it’s never very busy and get some great shots.

There was also another HM, on a section of tree coming down from the boys' bedroom, but I could not find it. It was a side profile in green algae but maybe it was cleaned up? did I just miss it?
PC080059.jpg

After this jungle trek, I promised myself a Dole Whip, so I gots myself one! It is now just after 5:30pm and it cost $3.08. I rested on a nice spot (away from the smokers!), relaxed and journaled a bit until 6pm.

sorry, it's eaten a bit! lol!
