Has anyone ever been to this? I see that the dates start Nov 10th, are the parks all decorated for Christmas at this point?

We have been in early December. It was wonderful! I don't know how early the parks are decorated though!

We go every year. And every year they seem to start them earlier and earlier. We go the week after turkey day (normally the Weds.)

As far as "All decorated" it depends on what you mean. The basics for the party will be up, castle, mainstreet, etc. But it takes them weeks (pushing a month) to get everything up and running.

But some things like Osborn Lights may be up but not operating at that point. You'll see some stuff at the resorts, like I bet the gingerbread house will be up, but most likely not complete.

Last year we went on the first day, November 10. Many decorations were up in the MK but they weren't all up. It is a great event that is a lot of fun.

Disney has been pushing the fully decorated dates to after Thanksgiving. MK will be decorated to support MVMCP but not much else.

We went to a MVMCP around November 16th last year, and the Christmas tree at the MK wasn't up yet. The resorts were beginning to be decorated. We were at the BC and that lobby was fully decorated by the 19th...we walked around the GF, and the Gingerbread House was up but their tree wasn't going to go up until the day before Thanksgiving.

So, the decorations are being worked on. At the BC, they gave free gingerbread shingles to the guests.

We went to the first MVMCP last year. I think it was Nov. 10th or the 11th. Most of the decorations in the magic kingdom were up. However, the other parks were in the process of displaying their decorations. In DHS, they had the area closed to prepare for the Osborne family lights

The MK tree went up late last year. Someone (I want to say AA at allears) said it was due to the filming of christmas parade for ABC.

DH & I were there for 2nd night last year. It was our first time and we loved it. The decorations were up at MK with the exception of the Christmas Tree (I was bummed to say the least). It was really magical especially when the snow started falling on Main Street. Towards the end of the evening, the crowds thinned out and it seemed like we had the park to ourselves. The free cookies & hot chocolate were great to have especially since the evening started to cool off.

We didn't see any decorations at the other park until towards the end of the week. By Friday, they had started putting up the tree at Epcot, but that was the only thing I saw.

Going to miss it this year :sad1: You'll have lots of fun!

The MK tree isn't moved into town square until after the Christmas Commercial, I mean Parade taping is finished. It blocks the cameras view of Main Street.

The party is worth it and DH and I did 2 nights in 12/08 so that we could really take everything in. If you enjoy character pics (especially with them in their Christmas outfits) it takes nearly 3-4 hours just to catch all of the characters. The shows are wonderful and the parade and fireworks are amazing! The lines for the rides are minor at best. We were able to walk on EVERYTHING including the MK mountains (all 3 of them) and Peter Pan which is normally a ridiculous wait during the day.

One year we were at WDW for Halloween, and the Christmas tree was already in front of MGM (at the time). Not lit at night of course, but there it was.

it was great, worth every penny.

I would agree with this EXCEPT. You have to be able to avoid attractions, we went last year with a 4yo, and he had a meltdown because he wanted to ride things. If you do that then you basically paying $40 for cookies and EMH.

Personally I only think it's worth while if you catch Mickey's telling of a visit from St Nick. And the forecourt show, and the 2 parades, and the fireworks.

We usually go around Thanksgiving and have gone to the party and loved it.
This year we decided to go right before Christmas and leave after New Years Day, Why don't they have dates for the Christmas Party right up to Christmas?

We went this past Dec. the week before xmas. It is definately worth going to at least once. The crowds at that time were pretty bad but we still had a great time. If I was to do it again I think I would go a little earlier in the season.

Unfortunately, you don't need a MVMCP ticket to enjoy the fireworks and parades, which is part of the problem.

We went for the first time this last Dec 9th and it was a nightmare. The park was so packed. Difficult to move around in the show areas, and lines for all special events. Rides lines did not clam down till about 11:00. Cookies and hot cocoa meant a long line and the quality was C- at best.

Literally, my family paid an extra $200 for a christmas parade and fireworks show (took an hour of time to secure viewing location) and a fairly cheesy "night before chrimstmas" show, and one each cookie and watery hot cocoa.

I will never go again. It was a waste of money. I was expecting this extra ticketed event to provide some kind of reduced crowd, private event-type experience. Hardly.

We went the first time December 08. We had a blast. We've done MNSSHP several times, and I personally liked MVMCP better.

Crowds were lighter than the MNSSHPs we've been to recently, it was nice to sit and watch the parade with cookies and cocoa (quality wise they weren't great, but the kids loved them). Fireworks were nice, park is beautiful. Lines for most rides were short, except in Fantasyland where Peter Pan and Dumbo were slow as always.

We'd go again if we were planning a trip that time of year, but we usually don't go then. It was a treat to the kids while their father was away.
