Very Late check in for ressie

Here is my dilemma: My family is booked on the 12/26 Magic cruise and we always go down to FL at least the night before embarkation. Since that will be on Christmas day and with the weather unpredictability, I was thinking about flying down either the night of the 22nd or the morning of the 23rd, depending on airfare costs. If I'm going to use my points to stay on-site, I need to make my ressies next week. The airfare schedule won't post for months.

Finally, here is the question: If I book for the 22nd and don't show up until the morning of the 23rd, will they cancel my reservation? Since it is a timeshare and the points are spent plus there is not a "walkup" potential like a regular hotel, I would assume I could check in on the 23rd and get into my room as soon as I arrive and won't have a problem. What do you think?

I have not done this, but I have asked MS about it. They said that they will put "late arrival" on the notes, so as not to have the reservation be cancelled. I was interested because of a VB arrival that would be best in the morning, but I would have booked the night before. As it turned out, I didn't need to do it. I was told "many do that" but no one on the disboards actually say they do it!

I've done a a very late arrival (1:00 am) and had no problems. I had MS note it on the ressie.

I have done very late arrival - after midnight - and been told that all the units in my requested locations had been checked in and none were available. Got stuck in a location that we didn't like for the week and told that there would be an extra cleaning charge to move. I would say that this would be the only drawback to checking in late.

I have done both the 1 am and 6 am arrivals.

A couple of suggestions. If you aren't going to arrive until the early morning call the resort the day before and TELL them directly. Don't reley on the MS notification.

Now at 1 AM... I got what consider my BEST ever location and view at OKW. So... don't assume you will get a bad spot LOL!
