During my recent visit to Walt Disney World, I witnessed a family of four (Parents and their two young children) speak and act the unthinkable, heartless thing on the Monorail platform. The father told the cast member the following:
"Oh, they stopped loading the front cab because a young man got splattered in the crash." and then he laughs real hard in front of his wife and kids after making said comment. What's worse, they joined in laughter too. A person such as himself should be permanently banned from all theme parks. That guest has a stone cold heart and is thoughtless.

Do NOT yourselves go to Walt Disney World and make the same horrid action that this guest has made. Losing a human life where ever it takes place is NOT a laughing matter.

Please spread this word to help all guests visiting Walt Disney World to open up their eyes, think before they open their mouths and show respect to all Disney Cast Members that work to keep Mr. Walter Elias Disney's legacy alive and spread happiness.

Thank you for your time in reading this.

Why are you being anonymous? :confused3

What disgusting people. Those poor children.

But, the poll and anonymity? Why?

I agree that the person that made those comments is a disgusting human being.

And I would imagine that the anonymous status would have to do with the poster's employment status (possibly a CM). Just my thoughts.

What a horrible thing for someone to say, and joke about.

What a pig. I'm sorry you had to hear that.

Yes, the 'joke' that the guest made was disgusting, and unfortunately we even have a few on these boards that like to laugh at people who have died. How anyone can find a death funny is a disgusting and vile human being. Seems only a sadistic person could get any type of enjoyment out of death.

I can understand the anonymity, since you very well may work there, but what is the poll about? It makes no sense in relation to your post.

Look, I get that you're upset because of something you heard, but please don't preach to the choir and insult me by acting as though you're giving me a PSA or that I need to be told how to behave. What the man said was crass, rude and just plain offensive, but I doubt anyone who participates on a WDW planning board such as the DIS would ever speak that way in front of a CM to begin with.

Telling us to behave better than that cretin is like instructing a nun how to dress modestly. Unnecessary, presumptuous and juuuuust a little bit offensive to tell you the truth.

As for 'spreading the word' and attempting to police the bad taste and horrible actions of other people, it's never been my policy to do that before and I'm certainly not going to spend my vacation policing other people's behaviors. That's one of the reasons I chose not to have kids.

I'm sorry you're upset, but your being upset doesn't give you license to tell other people how to behave. Vent away - hell, most of us (including me) will join you and agree that what that ******* said was rude, crude and unforgiveable. But you lose my sympathy when you entreat me to join your crusade to stop free speech simply because you didn't like what the other person was saying.

Oh, and I'm going to vote "unsure" on the poll because I really don't get the whole poll thing for this thread, either.

Please forgive me. Everyone is correct that the poll has nothing to do with the post. I'm just curious to know how many believe that Disneyland and Walt Disney World Monorails are autopiloted. Automation is a growing trend in today's society: faucets, toilets, airplanes, people movers at the airports, vacuum cleaners (SpotBots), and more.

Thank you for your time!

It was a sick thing for the man to joke about the death from the monorail accident. :guilty:

Monorails are driven by drivers who have had extensive training. We were able to ride up front with the driver once (before this practice was banned) and it was interesting to see the view and the driver at his job.

While I agree that it's in very bad taste, to say the least, to joke about a death, I'm not really even sure I believe what you are saying, op. IMO you want to get people all upset and worked-up over something that may not be true at all. JMHO

You can't police bad behaviour or tackiness. I can't tell you the number of things I've witnessed that left me shaky my head. I'm still trying to get over the women who let her 4 year old daughter, pee on the side of the building where you see festival of the lion king.

I was just sharing my Disney Christmas experience.

I was not venting. I am not telling people how they should live their lives. I'm not starting a crusade of any kind. My post was in no way looking for sympathy. I was doing something simple. Sharing with the Disney community. I've browsed through the Dis Discussion Forums. I've seen the ups and downs. It is a place where Disney Fans get together and share. Am I not correct on this? This is all I was doing. Sharing.

May you have a blessed new year.

Some made a comment in poor taste - so what?

I really dislike attitudes like this. You cannot control what other people say, you can only control yourself and your reaction. If your kids overhear something inappropriate and take notice, you explain to them why it is bad and the 'correct' way to react.

Yes, what happened was tragic, but they were also running the monorails with the safety off, IIRC. And how many visitors to the park do you think personally knew or interacted with those involved with the crash? Its easy to be less sensitive to an event that happened to someone who you don't know who is identified by their occupation. To most visitors, what is a tragic accident to the employees and friends and family of those involved, is just a monorail accident.

Not to mention everyone handles crises differently. Some make jokes, some cry for days. Just because someone makes a joke about a tragedy doesn't mean they don't care.

If you are a castmate, OP, perhaps its time to look for another job if that event affected you this deeply and continues to do so after all this time.

Why are you sharing your Disney experience annonymously? Is there some specific reason you feel the need to be annonymous?

I am not a Disney Cast Member. Nor was I ever one. I just love visiting Disney Parks. That's all.

Everyone have a blessed and safe new year's!

A lot of you questioned about my "anonymous" sharing. My id of "Anonymous" is the equivalent of some user profile names that don't use real names. I chose a simple word "anonymous" than being creative and come up with something cool.

Well you obviously weren't the first one to come up with that idea. :rotfl:

I'm sensing a skunk and am backing away. Have a good day!
