If we book 2/9 - 2/15 - will we get the really good current AP rates for our entire stay? OR, once 2/12 hits will we have to pay the new AP discount which seems to be less?

I've never done this before and DH and I want to go for Valentine's day.

Also - never been so early in the year. What's the weather like in Feb? Can you get in the pools an be comfortable?

You would get the 2/9 rates for the entire stay (if available). I would call now, those discounts have already been out for some time.

About the weather--
You never know. We were there last February and it was cold to swim. The pools are heated so the water is warm but when you get out, it's cold!! My kids didn't care, they swam. Way too cold for me.:D

Wanted to bump my thread up to get some more opinions on the February weather and swimming.

Thanks everyone.

We were there in the beginning of February 2000 and the weather was very nice. Low 80's :sunny: . It was chilly in the morning and cool at night but I do remember never needing to unpack any pants, just a sweater. I think you take a chance with the weather when going at that time, but it is a chance definitely worth taking!!;)

February weather can be iffy. When we went in February 2002 (27-Mar3) there was a danger of frost! Splash Mountain was open but with the temp in the low 50's only the northerners were taking the plunge! We wore lots of sweatshirts on that trip, but it never rained.

In February 2003 (19th-28th) the weather was high 80's. Awesome weather, again no rain, we never wore pants, and only rarely wore sweatshirts (mostly at night to Illuminations and Fantasmic).

DD did not care and swam on both trips (many times).

For our upcoming trip (Jan31 - Feb 10) I will pack the gamut - jeans and sweats (just in case) and shorts and tees.

I know I will be spending many hours at the pool as well.

BTW, the AP rates for stays beginning up through 2/11 expired 12/29. Try to see if you can get an AAA rate - rates for values and moderates were about 20% off of rack. OR, try to do a check-in on the 12th.

Good luck!princess:
