Greetings everyone. I am very pleased with Member Services. I phoned yesterday to check about my ME reservation and I had asked if anything on my waitlist had come through for my first trip from May8th-23rd. The vacation advisor said I was not put on the waitlist, he put me on hold to check something. He asked which resorts I wanted to try. I told him BCV, WLV and OKW and SSR. Well he managed to get me 2 nights at WLV (8th and 9th), then 4 nights at OKW the the rest at Saratoga Springs. We spent an hour and 20 min on the phone getting everthing sorted out. He was so nice and very helpful. He made my day and made my first trip to WDW a great start.

So I'm at Wilderness Lodge Villas in a Studio on May 8th & 9th.
Old Key West from the 10th-14th. Then at Saratoga springs from the 14th-23rd. I cant wait to get there on monday. It will make the 15 hour trip to get there worth it.

It never hurts to call member services as you never know what will happen.

I'm so happy right now. I'm going to go finish packing my carryon.

Just thought id share with everyone. ;)

5 days and counting......

That is so great that you had such a good experience with MS! It seems like there are some great CM's and some not so great ones at MS. I have talked to a man named Wayne a few times and he's been spectacularly good. Another time I talked to a woman with a heavy accent and she was adequate but had nothing on Wayne. I wonder if anyone else has a favorite MS CM. I  Wayne!

That's terrific ! Glad to hear everything worked out so well for you !

Enjoy your first trip ... sounds like you'll be doing a "DVC sampler" ! ;)

So far every one I have talked to at MS has been great.

I'm always surprised when anyone complains about MS because my experiences have all been good. I only had one call that wasn't magical. It was 3 or 4 years ago and I had lots of questions and the CM was obviously not happy with them, but she was polite and mostly patient. The other experiences have all exceeded my expectations.

So good to hear. That time is a busy one. The only place we could get in May 6th to 9th was SSR (studio.) This was about 2 months out.

I hope you have a great trip. I love it when MS is so helpful! :cool1: :thumbsup2

DVC MS is the best (so far). They are always patient and friendly. They always try to help.

I hope other companies follows the same, especially United Airline and Dell. I hate calling those two customer services. One time, I was put on hold more than 5 times to change a seat, which took more than 30 minutes to change a seat.

I called MS two days ago and asked to arrange ME for my trip. I got my luggage tags today! Talk about fast! They are the greatest. :thumbsup2

:confused3 I thought once you requested a waitlist (particularly if you want a phone call before accepting) that was it....if your request became available, you'd get it.

IMO, no need to keep calling (& tying up MS time & our resources).

Perhaps I'm mistaken...does the squeaky wheel get the grease?

keishashadow,

Please reread original post. The call was to check on ME. When on the phone, asked about waitlist and found out that the reservation never was put on the waitlist in the first place.

I don't call that a waste of our resources, nor was the poster a squeaky wheel.

I too have never had anything but great help from MS. They do seem to be more helpful and in better moods than other CM's.

That being said, I've actually had very few bad experiences with any CM's in the 20 plus years we've been going to Disney. Some, but not many. I guess I figure everyone has bad days once in a while.

I'm very happy for the OP that he got to stay @ DVC for his upcoming trip:thumbsup2 ...appeared as though he thought he was on waitlist but signals were crossed & he wasn't...glad to hear MS worked it out so close to his trip. Can't imagine how he felt.

If for some reason a member wants to call MS daily to chat, that's their perogative. However, when I'm sitting on hold waiting to book a room, you tend to wonder. JMO to try & keep costs down, good idea to limit calls to MS.

Not sure why OP would be calling to "check on ME" unless he didn't book it yet or get his luggage tags.:confused3 Thought once you booked it, the matter was settled.

Do assume that the waitlist is just that, a waiting list - 1st in line, etc. Hope that callling back to check on waitlists doesn't spring you to the head of the line.
