Very Excited...Just booked Dolphin For June. Please help with ?'s!!

We have always wanted to stay at the Swan/Dolphin...especially when we see it while at Disney. We have always stayed no higher than moderate, but thought it would be so great to stay in the Swan or Dolphin. In reading these posts, I learned about Hotwire. Through many agonizing evenings of getting up nerve to book, I finally did it. We are staying at the DOLPHIN!!! My family will be so surprised and even more excited.

I need some info please. I hear about these Heavenly Beds. Are they also at the Dolphin? Also, can we let them know that it will be our anniversary while we are there (possible upgrade)?

Any information that you have on the Dolphin would be very much appreciated.

Thanks to everyone on these boards, we are able to have a dream vacation and not have to worry about how we are going to pay for it.

We just came back from a great 15 night stay at the Dolphin. You are going to love the Dolphin! They are going through renovations now but should be done before June. Yes they are getting heavenly beds! We were on the 3rd floor and did have a renovated suite. You will love these comfortable beds. Definatly call the Dolphin and have it noted on your reservation that it is your anniversary. Starwood owns the S/D and no longer gives upgrades to starwood members for Hotwire or outside reservations. But they may still give you some kind of perk for your anniversary! 1 407 934 4000

I have stayed at all of the monorail resorts. The last time we went to WDW we tried the Dolphin and.......We Loved it! We will be staying there again in july. We love the location and the pool is great the kids loved it. I hope you have a grea trip!

had a balcony room - Room 8029....fabulous view of the Epcot ball and fireworks. The room had not yet been renovated, however, I must say that it was our best family vacation ever. I highly recommend the pool there and going down the slide....even the adults. I have started to turn into an old woman (now that I'm 35) and would have ended up just sitting on my chair, but my 6 yr old talked me into going down the slide with her.....and I ended up giggling all the way down and spending the rest of the afternoon going up and down the slide. It is just wonderful for kids...even amazingly young ones. There is a lifeguard at the top and bottom of the slide and it is more safe/ appropriate than I imagined for youngsters. Ordinarily I would have fainted if my husband had gone down there alone and come back to let me know how they'd spent the afternoon - but really - It's great and in my uptight, mother of one child opinion - I give it a big thumbs up!

I am unaware what the state of renovations are at the Dolphin - but really, its a wonderful place - the LOCATION is excellent and I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time. Congrats on the great deal.

Dear Ashley's mom:

My family is going to WDW for the first time and staying at the Dolphin. We have a 5 y.o. daughter.

I am glad to hear about the life guards at the slide. I was considering bringing her floatie-type vest for the slide. Did they have any such devises present? Or, would you say it is unnecessary?

May be you would know this, too -- sand toys. Do they have them to rent?

Kis- I believe they have life vest type equipment that you can rent at the cabana outside. You know - the places where they sell the suntan lotion for $29.95 . Seriously - I am sure they had kids vests there. But if you go to their website. www.swandolphin.com there is a link to email questions - I did this several times with questions on towncars etc before our trip.

I inquired about the sand toys. We'll see what they have to say.
