Now I know that you're not going to find the upper crust of society at the local 7-11 but I didn't expect to be scraping the bottom of the barrell which is what happened today. Here's what happened:
1)I pull up and notice a young woman(late teens-early twenties) sitting on the back of a motorcycle(no helmet) obviously waiting for someone inside who tells me she likes my shirt(it's from Universal with Dr Seuss characters on it). I'm tempted to ask her if she also likes being alive and question her as to why she isn't wearing a helmet...but I restrain myself.
2)I enter the 7-11 and immediately spot the fellow she's waiting for. He has his back to me and on the back of his green military style jacket it says "T-Town punks, blowing up a town near you" and I'm thinking hmmm, what does that mean. Then he turns to exit the store and I see the front of this jacket has a very large(dinner plate size) circle on it inside of which it says "ducking A service" except it didn't really say ducking....it said a word that rhymes with ducking. I'm still scratching my head wondering what in the world this fellow's jacket is all about..
3)Next the girl in line in front of me who looks to be mid teens tries to buy a pack of cigarettes. The clerk asks her for ID and she goes out and gets her mother(or some older woman with her who appears to be her mother) to come in and buy the cigarettes. Because the clerk saw her hand the money to her mother, he's now not allowed to sell the mother the cigarettes. It's a law...not his decision. Well, for his trouble, he gets called a racist biggot!(Yes, the girl and mom were black)
4)Then it was my turn to buy a pack of cigarettes and the clerk asked me for identification.(Which I thought was really, really cool because I'm 38) I happily exited the store and wandered home....still scratching my head ....
What do you think?
