Very cool experience from my trip!

My mom and I went to tour around the Pacific NW this last week. We spent time in Vancouver, Victoria and the Seattle area.

I made it a point to look up some friends from our church when we lived there when I was little ( 25 years ago! ) one of them was my best friends parents from when I was 8.
I havent talked to this friend in about 14 years but you know how some people just stay in your heart? She and her whole family were like for me. I called her parents and set up a time to stop and see them and another couple. It was so wonderful and they hadnt changed at all from what I remember! The house was exactly the same too how can that happen? lol


Anyway, as I am sitting there chatting with my friends parents the phone rang and it was MY FRIEND!! the best part??? She was calling from TURKEY!!! Can you imagine? She and her dh and 13 year old son have been sailing around the world on a sailboat for the last 5 years She told me all these stories about how they were in Phuket during the Tsunami and how they survived it and how theyve done tours of so many countries. It was SO amazing!! I knew she was on a boat somewhere so I didnt think Id get to talk to her at all. She stayed up till 1 AM just so she could call me there


It was so nice to connect with old friends. They all kept saying " it was so nice of you remember us, its so rare for a girl that was your age when you were here to care" I almost cried! These were like second parents to me and so special. The mom gave me the most GORGEOUS tatted tablecloth that she had hand made. I was blown away. It was so special


Anyway, that was probably the highlight of my trip. Getting to see the old house and old friends.

Thanks Sweetie! Im glad to be home. It was a tough week without the kids ( and dh )

ha! We could talk!!!! Major issues where John goes for speech?/OT. I thought we had them straighten out until new ones popped up. ugh!!! make that a double.


Have the kids gone back to school yet? Ours don't start until the 6th. Can't wait. Will be hard though Danny starts full time K this year.

I so know what you mean about the speech issues.


The kids start Monday Theyre all excited and Im happy to get back into the routine. Karissa starts half day K this year too. Not sure what I will do with 5 days of morning quiet LOL


If it slows down later this week (but probably next) Ill give you a call. Ive been meaning to do that for a while LOL.

Sounds like a very speical trip, Binny! Of course any trip I take with my Mom is quite special as she's getting up there in years. It's so nice to still be able to enjoy time with her.
