ok i read on the dcl questions and ansers that this is how you tip
dinining room sever 14.75
dining room assit. server 10.50
dining room head server 3.75
state room person 14.50

then it said per person.. per day

that would cost me 3 of us going for each day ..at the end of our 4 day cruise...

525.00 is that right????? you pay for each person in your group.. ??

That is not per day, that is for the full trip. So your total would be $130.50. You pay for each person in the group, but again it is NOT per day.
Based upon service, you can leave more or less. When we went, we felt that the server & Asst. server + the Stateroom attendant did a very good job, so we left a little more.

Hi. The amounts are right but it's per person - per cruise, not per day. So your total for your 4 day cruise for 3 people would be $130.50.

Hi Huckster,

I happen to have the Disney Crusie Book for 2001 - 2003 in front of me as we are going on the Wonder in October and it states for tipping as follows:

3 day 4 day 7 day
Dining Room Server $10.50 $14.00 $24.50
Dining Rm Asst Ser $ 7.50 $10.00 $17.50
Dining Rm Head Ser $ 2.50 $ 3.50 $ 6.00
Stateroom Host $10.50 $14.00 $24.50

and as a heading it states per Cruise/per Guest

So depending on which cruise and amount of persons going will determine how much you should plan on.

Again this is only a guide. There are many posts on this board with other helpful tips on giving gratuities to the cast members.

Good luck on your cruise.

Can't wait for our first DCL cruise on October 13th.

I had no idea it would cost that much!!!!!!!!!! Do you tip for a 3 year old? I have 3 children, ages 9, 7 & 3. If I have to tip for the five of us then I would have a total of $217.50. Is this correct?

We tipped for our 3 year old and actually added extra to it! The cast members were absolutely amazing at meals with our 3 yr old! Definitely they deserved a tip from us for our 3year!!:D

The good ones will help keep your kids happy. They sure did for ours. Made our dining much better. So...I think they earn their money more for kids than adults. We gave extra and a couple of phone cards for each.

I hope you enjoy the same service we did. You may understand what I am saying. Have fun!

We are planning to tip for our 2 year old, and probably extra! I try to tip for him at restaurants, even though he doesn't usually get his own food. He takes up space & is lots of extra work, even though I pick up after him (& he is getting neater)!

I would have to agree with the others - the servers really do go above and beyond for the kids. Our DD7 actually enjoyed going to dinner every night. Our servers kept the kids entertained and really did earn every penny they got.
