Hey there, Hi there, Ho there,
This was the first TR that I have ever written. It was not for the DIS Board and it is a rather short one! (I started writing long TR when I joined this board!)
But this trip was very special to me.
- It was the first trip with a digital camera (Can you imagines times when we dont had these cool things?)
- It was also the first stay in the Disneyland Hotel! This was the biggest (materialistic) dream that I had. And it was amazing that I could accomplish this dream with only 25 years.
- It was the first trip were I saw the Tarzan Show and I fell in love with it right away!
- And it was a trip right after a Madonna concert in Paris. This made it even more special!
So if I had to name one trip to the most perfect trip ever it would be this one!
The weather was perfect. It was warm and we had only sunny days.

Trip report 8.9-10.9.2004
After 1994 SF, 1995 Cheyenne, 2000 SL, 2001 NPBC, 2002 SF, 2003 NPBC, 2003/2004 NPBC; it was time for the real thing:
2004 Disneyland Hotel.
This whole trip was like a dream. We arrived on the 8.September 2004 at the DLH. In the afternoon we got our room, it was room 3311 in the west wing with a really beautiful view to the garden and to the pools. I always thought that it would be the most important thing to get a room with a view to the park; but now I know better! Only a few "normal" rooms are to the park side. The whole west wing doesn't have a room to the park side, because you only would see the white back side of the "real" Phantom Manor-building!! If you own the book "From sketch to reality" have a look at the big pictures with the DLH. There you can see that the park-side of the west-wing is "closed"! There are no rooms!
And even if you get a "normal" room with view to the park, you only would see the train station and in the background the castle! I enjoyed the view to the really beautiful garden more than the view to the park!
For me it was enough to get a table on the window during the breakfast and dinner in the restaurants.
Every real DLRP fan should try to afford this dream hotel at least one time. Because:
-The rooms are really big.
-The breakfast is much better than in the other hotels
-The bathroom is really beautiful and big, there is a wooden mirror with all 7 dwarfs and snow white, you have 2 washbasins, a hair-dryer, and an extra
telephone near the toilet!!!
- you get much softer towels and 2 bath robes
- you can meet characters everywhere in the hotel
- when you return in the evening the room service was in your room for a second time, and they made your bed ready for the night, they placed a candy on your pillow and they have closed the curtains!
The only thing I've missed during my stay at the DLH was the walk from the parks to the hotels. But therefor you can return to the DLH any time you want. No matter if it is for a nap, for eating and drinking some of your own cheap things, for a shower or for changing your clothes!! The last 2 points could be very useful during the summer.
We also had dinner in the Inventions! It was the best buffet I have ever seen! It is worth every cent of the 43! We ate for 2 hours!! And we meat many characters!
We had 3 very funny days. The parks have been medium crowded. The longest waiting time was in the studios 20 (!!!!) Minutes for the STT, and in the Disneyland Park one time 15 minutes for the PM. The Pirates, BTM and the PM were the only attractions which we did more than once. The PM seemed to have some technical problems, because there was no ride (out of 8) were we had no stop. During one ride we had more than 5 stops, 2 of them for more than 45 seconds!
There were many Germans and Spanish people in the park. In some parts of Germany were still holidays!
We also did the Lion King and the Tarzan Show. Both were very cool! But I liked the Tarzan show a little bit more. I think because of the stunts and of the very cute Tarzan.
The waiting time for Lion King was 45 minutes. We did the first show of Wednesday (1:15 pm) and we lined up at 12:20. But at 12:30 they closed the waiting line for this show. During the later shows, we saw that you had to come much earlier. So my advice for you: Try to catch the first show of the day, because you don't have to wait very long!
(this is 2007 not valid anymore as you now have to get tickets for the show!)
