Vero: Would you take a one-day bus trip to WDW if offered?

I've stayed a couple of times at Vero Beach. Before I stayed there I didn't think I would be impressed. Well, I was.

Vero is a different experience from WDW. But it seems to me that it would be nice to take a bus during a longer stay for one day into WDW, spend the day, and then return that night. I'd be willing to pay for the bus ride in order to avoid having to drive, although I suppose the amount I'd be willing to pay might be subject to debate.

Guess I'm curious how many people would like to see a twice-weekly Vero to WDW bus. My guess is that it could take people both ways, in that it could bring a bus load from WDW to Vero for a day at the beach. With a load both ways, the cost shouldn't be too bad.

Any thoughts?

no thanks

when stay at VB or HH want the beach.

when staying at WDW then want WDW.

I can see the appeal, but the logistics would be difficult. Groups going both ways would want to leave early and return late so they get a full day at their destination. So it would be difficult to run just one bus, and with two buses they would lose the advantage of traveling both ways. It is an idea worth suggesting, though.

We wouldn't use the service. Very often we're going to VB as well as WDW during the same overall vacation and I wouldn't want to take time out of the VB portion to spend time on a bus or back in WDW.

We wouldn't use the service either. I think too the logistics would be too complex to warrant a profitless (for the resort) excursion service.

I'm not a big fan of bus trips to begin with so I would not be interested in a bus from VB to WDW. If I want to go to WDW, I would go to WDW and stay there.

No thanks, I don't want to be bothered. I came to the beach to relax, not get EXHAUSTED!

As someone staying at Vero Beach, I'm not sure I would appreciate the bus load of WDW guests coming in and using the Vero Beach pool, restaurants, etc.

Yup! thats exactly what I was thinking, could you imagine a bus load of people coming to take over the pool for a day??

Well, never know until you ask! Actually, I don't think a bus load of people would be all that bad spread out over the whole resort, but I understand the worry.

I was just curious. It seems a lot of people are doing split stays. I could see not fooling with WDW at all, but might like to just do one day without the hassle of driving. That why I posted the idea. Apparently I'm the only person who wants this, and I can certainly do without.

:scared1: I didn't even think about that! Now I'm totally against the idea. ;)

TOOK US ABOUT 1 1/2 HOURS FROM ORLANDO AIRPORT!

TOO FAR FOR A DAY BUS TRIP!

WOULD NEVER WANT TO SEE THE POOL/BEACH BEING OVERRUN...
THATS THE BEAUTY OF THAT RESORT! QUIET AND RELAXED!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I doubt that I would go from WDW to Vero but the Vero to WDW day trip might be nice. We usually book a late flight on the last day, leave early and spend a day at one park before going home. I think it might work, they could charge for it so the expense would be offset. I like the idea

Not for a day trip but I like the bus service idea in order to avoid having to drive. Perhaps they could add Vero Beach to their Magical Express shuttle service. So one could add several days to the beginning or the end of their themepark vacation.

I dont think that would work, for starters, I personally couldn't imagine being at Vero for more than a few days without a car. And With the hundreds of flights that arrive at MCO daily, would you want to arrive at MCO at 9:00am, but only one bus a day heads to Vero and its at 3:00?? They would never run busses every 20 minutes or even every hour to Vero, just not cost effective.

Not sure how it turned into a WDW to Vero discussion, I wouldn't see Disney even attempting to allow that. I think OP was just stating Vero to WDW and I could see it working on a limited fashion.

First, any bus trip has a departing and returning time, take it or leave it. So bus leaves at say 10 am for WDW and departs WDW at say 10 pm to return to Vero. I wouldn't see it being a daily service, but maybe on the slowest park days, helping to increase attendance and people planning to go to Vero know they could get to WDW on say Tues and Thurs of their trips.

I doubt it would be free and as others said, most people at Vero have a car, so probably wouldn't want to be limited to the bus schedule, although with it being so far away, some people might and it could work out. I would think they would have to do a trial basis to really determine if it was effective.

No. IF we're going to go to only 1 park for 1 day I'd want to be there for rope drop so we'd drive ourselves. But it's too far IMO to do a day trip and return that night.
