I was thinking about a beach vacation in the next year. How accessible is Vero? Can I rent a beach wheelchair? Are the Villas accessible? Any suggestions, tips would be appreciated. TIA.

Hello: I'll try to help you with some of your questions about VB.

I have seen people using nice beach wheelchairs on the beach. They appeared to be rented. There is a long ramp to the beach, which I have used for years, since I can't use stairs very well.

The villas are all accessible via elevators, with parking below. However, the beachfront villas (the beach side freestanding units) are not as accessible inside the units. The bedrooms are all located on the first level, and the kitchen, dining and living rooms are on the second level, with a long set of stairs to get up to that level. However, there may be a beachfront villa with an elevator(?) I've stayed in three different beachfront villas (out of seven??), and there were no elevators. But I do recall seeing an ECV on the porch of the beachfront villa nearest the pool.

If you plan on staying in a one or two-bedroom villa, just ask to be located in a villa closest to the main building.

Also, there are nice concrete pathways to the pool and the main building (with ramps).

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the great info. I hope someone who has rented the beach wheelchairs will respond.
