Anyone ever stay at Vero before the Crusie? IF so how far a drive is it to the terminal and is it worth it? What time would we need to leave Vero to get to Port?

We went to Vero Beach prior to the 7 day cruise, twice (eastern and western tours). It was great. We arrived on Wednesday and left early (9:00 am) on Saturday morning. The relax and rewind was very nice and 3 days was enough for me to get ready for the cruise.

Vero is a very pretty place. We rented a car from Orlando International and drope to Vero. Each day we would swim or surf and then head into neighboring towns to do a bit of sightseeing and shopping. Cannot recall the great italian restaurant we went to but we liked it so much, that we went back the following year. (Morty's or something like that).

The drive to Cape Canaveral is about 1 hour. We got there earlier than the buses and was 2nd in line for stepping onto the boat - which is a big plus. There's a lot of people going on the boat at once. (I would recommend going straight to your room). The staff will try to lead you to the buffets but I would go to the room first, drop your carryalls and then go seek out the boat until your bags arrive at your room.

We stayed on Level 7 which was great (except someone stole our clothes from the dryer). But not every level has a laundry, so it could have happened on any level with laundry.

Hope this helps. Have a great time. :teeth:

If you go to VB give yourself at least 2 nights so you can enjoy the resort. It is very relaxing and the pool is great.

VB is truly Disneys "Best Kept secret". Spend at least 3 days there.

We stayed in June for 3 nights before our cruise. It is wonderful to relax and enjoy the resort. It is an easy drive into port.
Have fun,
Paula
