Hi,

Has anyone done this before a Disney cruise? Pro's, cons. Thinking of 2 days before in a studio. Is there a cruise desk?

Thanks,

I'm pretty sure there isn't a cruise desk, I did inquire and they said I would have to get transportation on my own, this was my first thought, now I'm thinking of the same thing and do it at WDW, if you do do Vero, get an Inn Ocean Room over a Studio, and request 4th floor, that way the laundry room is on the same floor and you can wash your clothes before your cruise!!!

Hi tinkgrl,

your still planning your trips, cool. when i go for easter ican scope it out for you, and talk to the cm, ill be there 3 1/2 weeks from now, yeppi!

i thought you were staying at the AKL before you go cruising,

or is that a seperate trip:sunny:

and you will be there right before christmas::yes::

im looking at the 4 day cruise for next easter, or should i go for the 7 day cruise, no matter which one its about a $1000 a day for me. and i am out of points for next year since we used all our points to take the whole family for christmas::yes::

let me know if you would like me to check at vero for you:wave2:

Sue,

That would be great! My mom thought of going to Vero before the cruise & going to HH after (as it is on the way home anyway.) Please check Vero for me & report back. :) The cruise isn't until 5/05!!! We'll have to book in October for both (Vero & HH). I just thought she had a good idea?? I didn't even think about it. Would you get a studio or ocean view?? What's the difference?

I am going to AKL this May & BCV in December 2004 before Xmas!! ::yes:: ::yes:: Look @ countdowns! :wizard: Going on a 4 day cruise would be great but a 7 day would be good too. Tough choice!!!! I'm envious of you!! :wizard: :wizard: We're hoping to go on the magic soon!! pirate: pirate:

You email me as your response to this post. Hope to hear from you soon!! Have a good weekend.

We did Vero before our cruise, and it was great. It slowed us down so when we boarded the ship we were already in a decompressed and relaxed frame of mind.

There is no transportation to the ship from the resort. You will probably need to rent a car.

We're planning on doing Vero before our December cruise. Just for one night but since we own there and haven't been before we thought it would be fun.

Hi,

Thanks for the info!!! We will have our own van! I was thinking that the entire vacation would be a relaxing one. 1st Vero then cruise than HH. What do you think? I'm feeling very relaxed already!! :teeth:

Can't believe we didn't think of this one!! We've been checking *GASP* HOTEL PRICES!!! Allison, you're brilliant!!:)

How far is Vero from Port Canaveral? Could transporation be arranged if we didn't want to rent a car? (Thinking the answer here is yes;) ) Price would be the next thought...

We'll have enough points for a 1 bdr !!YAY!!

Sue, if you could pm me as well, with any info you find out, I would be most thankful!!

i will add it to my list, and i will post when we get back from easter vacation.

if you didn t want to rent a car maybe a limo service, and i have heard people have rented a car for one day, they rented it from the airport and drove to cc and dropped it off there, so they didnt have to pay for parking the whole time they were gone, i read that on the disney cruise board.

vero from cc is a good distance here is a link: 1 hour and 28 mins.

Hi Tinkgrl,

I also posted a similar question on the Cruise board:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?threadid=209817

DH and I took the Disney Cruise in September 2001. We flew into Orlando the morning of the cruise departure.

In May 2003, we were booked on the DCL again. This time we decided to fly down two days early, and stay at VB. Wow...what a difference! I was so much more relaxed when I got on the ship.

I'm sure we will take the Disney Cruise again in the future. When we do, we will definitely plan on getting there at least one day early. And spending that time at VB is a great way to ease into vacation-mode.

Also, if an ocean view is important to you, I would recommend an Ocean View Inn Room, as opposed to a Studio.

VB did not have an attended cruise desk when we were there. They did have a small model of the ship off the lobby. Perhaps there was a cruise desk there once? Or maybe they have one during peak times.
