We are scheduled to be at VB on 7/8 & 7/9. This will be our first visit and then will be going to BWV for 7 nights. DH and DS are concerned they will be bored. Now I'm starting to worry because they are already complaining. We are not beach bums like we used to be but was anxious to see the place since so many love it. DS is 16 and would rather play his guitar then go swimming these days. But loves the World and will never get bored of it!!

I was thinking of switching my ressies to SS for those 2 nights.
So many choices. Any advice?

Thanks
Laurie

We stayed at VB for 6 days, and didn't find it boring, just very, very laid back. My DS - 18 - wasn't in to the campfire scene, but said he enjoyed the quiet and change of pace.
We also go the mini golf pkg...you pay $xx and can have unlimited mini golf, right next to the pool. That paid off. The Green Cabin room was also a favorite. There's checker/chess tables in there. Very nice place to unwind, although our DD - 13 - was more in to the desserts she could order there. ::yes:: But we had many good checker games!!
We didn't explore the area too much; family didn't want to leave the resort. We did go up to WDW for a day. The drive wasn't too long. (Just over an hour, as I recall) You're certainly close enough to go up for a day trip, if you want to. You will get free parking at the parks w/your VB parking pass, too.
Hope that helps!

I would stick with your original plans with 2 days at VB. It will give you time to check out the resort for yourself. Then you will know if you like it or not. The 2 days there will fly by.........

We'll I can't imagine any 16 year old male not having fun there. If the guitar goes with him I'm sure he will have fun. The porch off the lobby towards the beach is huge with sitting area. Take the guitar and he should have a good time right there. Good place to play cards too. :wave2:
Pretty girls too!

July:wave2:

We will be at Vero (beginning July 4, checking out July 9). We usually like to go to the beach after an extended stay at WDW. But this year it had to be switched because of family that is going with us. They only want to do the beach portion of the trip and they are locked into that week.

We have 4 inn-rooms reserved. We wanted the beach cottage but didn't get our name in soon enough, DARN IT. They are AWESOME.

Granted there is not alot to do. You can't walk Downtown Disney, etc. Be sure to do the campfire if they have it the night you are there. Also they have lawn bowling and putt putt. BUT the most attractive ACTION is walking the beach. If you can handle going out at midnight for 3-4 hours you might catch a loggerhead coming in to lay her eggs. Just remember to not bother them.

Well....when I was a 16 year old boy I had no problem hanging out on the beach and taking in the "sights" Trust me. If there are girls in bikini's around he'll be just fine. In fact you may have a hard time getting him to go back to Disney World.
