How is it?? Anyone go that didn't enjoy it or thought it was just okay and can say they did it. I think we might enjoy trying it for a couple of days.

We've been 3 times and have loved it each trip. We spend time at the beach, pool and just relaxing. All our trips have been in October and the weather has been perfect. We'd love to go every year if we could.

Stop it.... we've been there 10 times or more... Enjoy it? We love it.

The only DVC resort that gives you the true wild ocean. The ocean calls me... it is unlike any other place. Not just with DVC, but just the perfect ocean place....

DVC Vero Beach provides a perfectly calm beach with perfectly wild waves (on most days)

I am so happy to say that my DW (32yrs. married to me) has booked us (DBD) at VB in a 2bdrm (for our grown kids) and OVIR (for us) for late in June.... My DW (Mary Beth) Rocks.... She knows how to get it done.

Okay not to steal the thread, but is there any possibility at all of getting a two bedroom for memorial day weekend?

Two of my kids have credits on SW airlines that I have to use up before early June and we are taking a WDW vacation in July.

Two bedroom is probably the most difficult, but we just got it (DBD) for late June. Give it a try... you have nothing to lose. Also, if you cannot get the two bedroom... try a 1bdrm & studio or OVIR. Frankly, for us... we will enjoy having our OVIR and letting our kids work the 2bdrm.

We have had some great Vero stays and some crummy ones. The crummy ones had nothing to do with the resort. It had to do with weather. The last three times we went we were nearly rained out the entire stay. We have had one cat 1 hurricane and 2 tropical storms that hit and rained out all but one day of each of those past 3 trips.

Do you like it enough to try it again? You bet. We are going back this coming June for 3 more nights. When putting in my requests - I requested sun and blue skies. After explaining our past 3 trips - the CM said she would do the best she could for us - but there are no guarantees. ;)

Vero is great - just not the best place to be rained in at.

I love it there. We were hit with tropical storn Noel the last time and it rained 2 days and the ocean was way too rough to swim in but we had a ball. Used the pool and just relaxed the whole time. It's a great place to unwind.:thumbsup2

FYI you can get those credits extended also. I did. You call them up and then send you a voucher that is good for like 6 or 9 more months. Just in case you can't get in Memorial Day.

I'm sure your familiar with Ocean City, MD, and I hear it is nothing like that beach!! Not crowded, water is beautiful, very relaxing. My first trip there is in August....give us a trip report and let us know!

We aren't fans of OC at all. We have been there 3 times...once in Dec. and once in April and once in June. I am from the gulf coast area....and to us the gulf of mexico beaches are so pretty. I know Vero is Atlantic but I am sure we would enjoy it still. Just the beautiful resort in itself will be nice.

We would go in early Aug. Could I get days in Aug. at my 7 month window??? Thanks

We love VB. I can see us going there for a few days each time we head to WDW. Very relaxing!!

no white beaches and the waves in the ocean can get HIGH.:rolleyes1

the only time the panhandle waves get high is when there is a storm coming and time to go HOME.

didn't enjoy VB and wanted too. but what good is going to the Ocean if you are too afraid to get in the ocean.:rotfl:

think also VB is like St augustine - the drop off is really close.

Having grown up on the Atlantic shore I have never once been the least bit intimidated by waves at Vero. I guess it's just what you're used to, but I have never considered the surf there to be rough and regularly bring the little ones in with me.

I'm a huge Vero fan.

We're going to Vero Beach in late December and are looking forward to our stay in an OVIR. I'm just now starting to look at what there is to do not just at the resort but around the resort.

Guess I need to get driving directions to the resort as well -- one more thing for my list of things to do - find my reservation confirmation that has them on it :)

We generally go to the Gulf in Florida for New Years (St. George Island for anyone familiar) but decided this year instead of spending $$$ from our pockets, we'd use our DVC points and still get a beach-at-New-Years experience.

Hi everyone!! We LOVE Vero, but it's been awhile since our last visit and I had a quick question. Do you know if Shutters still offers the character breakfast on Sunday morning? We are going in just 8 days and we all can't wait!!
Thanks, Laurie

Pretty much all my young life I went to Rehoboth beach (Delaware) and have very fond memories. Like VB, it can have rough waves at times, but that is why I am there. I love the waves and the boardwalk.... Rehoboth and OC are sister communities and both have boardwalks.

Just a sharing of fun here.... my son and I were banned one day at Rehoboth Beach at Funland, from playing any more Skee-Ball (that day) because we just kept winning. It was probably the greatest father son moment we have ever had. We had their number. That weekend I think we probably took home over a hundred stuffed animals (some really exotic). Bliss... that is memory.

What I don't like about Rehoboth or OC is the crowds on the beach... it is wall to wall people as far as you can see. I found HHI to be the same, but that was in the short peak time for them (June).

VB, in my experience has never been crowded on the beach... it is just paradise. The pool can get crowded, but then I don't spend a whole lot of time there. VB is just the perfect place... Great waves, almost abandoned beach, and turtle activity that is rivalled by few other beaches.

VB is just the perfect place for us... We should own there, but until we cannot get our ressies at 7 months.... we will wait to buy there.

Okay... stepping off my stool... VB rocks... as Starbox would say... Guess I am a bit leaning to VB. For good reason.

Having grown up in NJ I find the waves to be mild to non existent, having said that I love VB! The resort is phenomenal, dining is the only downside. Beautiful pool and wonderful CM's.
