Vero Beach - what room should I get for YOUNG kids?

I have booked a deluxe oceanview Inn room for the first week of may. Supposedly it will have either a balcony or a patio.

I have a 6 month old, and a young 2 year old.

My question...since my 6 month old still takes 2 naps per day, do you think I will be better off requesting a room on the first floor so that I can let her nap in the room and be able to hang outside on the patio with my 2 year old running around?

If I am on the ground floor, I bet I won't get an oceanview? Is the oceanview really that great? I am wondering what the tradeoff is.

I am not real sure of the setup of this resort, so any thoughts would be appreciated :)

I don't think there are any rooms on the 1st floor at VB-the Inn rooms tha is.

I think there are only rooms on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors.

The ocean view IS great. Best from 3rd and 4th floors. We always stay on the 2nd floor and can see the ocean just fine.

The 2nd floor has been convenient for us because we just walk over to the Green Cabin Room or walk down the stairs to the little store or the restaurants. I think you will be happy with any floor. The resort is not huge, in my opinion so you won't be too out of the way no matter what room you are in.

We have been fortunate enough to be able to see the ocean and the pool from our room, which is nice because I can wave to my husband or he can wave at me when one of us is down at the pool with the kids.

You should be able to enjoy some time on the balcony of your room while your child naps. I'm sure someone else can confirm but you will not get a patio in the Inn because there are no 1st floor rooms. You could get a patio if you were staying in a villa, I think.

You may want to post any questions over on the Disney Vacation Club board-I'm sure you'll get some helpful responses.

You said you weren't sure of the setup of the resort-it is one main Inn building and it has villas on both sides and there are also around 6 beach cottages-we've never stayed in one-they are about $700/night

www.dvc-resorts.com should give you some more info-this will allow you to look at all the DVC resorts but not access the DVC member site. I don't know if you've already seen info on VB through the Disney website-so this may be helpful.
