Vero Beach Turtle walk?

I've been reading about Turtle walks at VB? Where can I get info on this? Do they have them in June? MY DW and DD would love this.

While at VB a few years ago, we did the CCC turtle walk that took us to a special stretch of beach north of VB. If was late at night around 10:30 PM but it was one of the most wonderful experiences of our lives. We saw a turtle come on shore and watched her lay her eggs and then drag herself back to the sea. My daughter was even able to touch the turtle's shell all under the direction of the CCC. They only did this side trip from VB on Mondays if I recall. We had to sign up for it in advance of our trip. We did not do the one at VB itself so I can't help you there. The next morning after our adventure we did see the "turtle tracks" from the ocean to the beach and back so the one a VB must be good also. To realize that these turtles have been doing this for hundreds of years is very thought provoking. By all means , do it!

I seem to remember too that if too many people sign up for it, then they draw people's names by lottery...

All of the landscaping around the resort is very turtle friendly. (Even the walkway lights, patio lights, and the hours that the pool open..)

Disney is very cautious about the habitat and probabily does not want to overbook the tour and scare the turtles...

I would call the resort and ask them for details...

I agree and am very appreciative that Disney seems to do such a great job.

When we were there at the beginning of the month, the staff, and even other guests, did a great job of creating awareness and making sure that other guests knew that even flashlights are not allowed on the beach during "turtle season".

Have a wonderful stay at Vero. What a jewel this resort is and we can't wait to return!
