Thinking of first trip to Vero beach.
What are the ins and outs?
Good points not so good.
Just me and wife in our 50s.
We like to sit on beach or by pool
Have some drinks and food dinners.I
What are thoughts on rooms etc??
Also any advice on places near resort?
Looking at Easter2021

Just about anything you want to know is there!

Because of vegetation many of the units do not have an ocean view, but for the most part Ocean View Inn rooms have been fairly consistent with good views.

Its a great, relaxing vacation. Unca Banjo appears On the porch on schedule and he has a great selection of songs.

There are many tasty local restaurants, and I enjoy the on site offerings. There’s counter service and sit down, and a bar.

Went last night for drinks (Green Cabin Room), and dinner (Wind & Waves).

Had a great time, but noticed the green that the GCR balcony overlooks was filled with huge, ugly, mushrooms.
Are they grooming the grounds to standards, or cutting back on staff..??

That said, we have been to the resort a billion times, and actually stayed there a million times. Too much to write here, but if you have questions please ask.
As suggested, visit the linked. thread

The place is the vacation opposite of WDW. It forces you to downshift and relax. No rushing from activity to activity.
There’s plenty to do, but you just don’t feel the urgency like at WDW.

That is what we are looking to do relax.
Last few WDW trips we did not do any parks .
Thank you.

Get an ocean view! Nice to listen to the waves when not down at the beach. We also like to rent the loungers on the beach or you can bring your own for less money. There is a cute breakfast place, Seaside Grill, that is fun to eat breakfast at outside by the ocean. It is about a 15 min drive.

We have been there several times, both inn and villa rooms, and liked both. The bars at the resort are quite good and pineapple Dole whips are available poolside.

Nothing is real close to the resort restaurant wise but not too far by car are all sorts good places to eat. We enjoyed Waldo's in downtown VB, and Mulligan's Beach House, Sebastian Inlet.

The two I mentioned are seafood restaurants and have a fun atmosphere. The king crab legs at mulligan's were really good and big.

Thank you
We don’t mind traveling a bit to have a nice night out.
If you want a nice dinner out with the SO, I will recommend the Ocean Grill.
The atmosphere Is the best, and food is excellent. The shrimp cocktail is to die for, but order some horseradish to zing it up. It’s basically ketchup.
It’s about a 15 minute drive. All CMs will be familiar for directions.
PS- It’s not cheap.

Forgot to mention... Mulligans was suggested earlier in this thread. If you opt for Mulligans, you are much better off with the one in Sebastian vs the one in Vero. The one in Vero (right across to Ocean Grill) smells like stale beer.
