Has anyone tried this? I promised my 15 yo dd that she could do it on this trip. :earsgirl:

My daughter did the surf school this past Wednesday and loved it. Sign up was at Eb and Flo's in advance. MaryAnn escorted the group by van to the Fort Pierce Inlet State Park where they met the surf school instructors. They met in the lobby at 8:45 am and returned at approx. 12:15. Cost was $90 for members and $95 for nonmembers. It is for ages 10 and up. I would say that it was a mixed group - a few 10-12 year olds, several teens, and a few adults for a total of about 15 people. When asked, they said they would not get into the water until about 10:30 if anyone wanted to view the surfers. (by driving down separately) Transportation and snacks were provided but onlookers had to provide their own. Also, wetsuits were provided. :flower:

my husband did the surf school on our last visit and loved it. He thought it was well worth the money.

From the member's site...........

Surf School
Learn to surf in half a day. $90 for Members

I am looking for my check-in information from last year which I think has more info. If I find it, I'll post it.

Do you know if you need to rent additional equipment, or reserve a spot far in advance?

I would like this too, but the 3 times I have been to VB the water was more like a lake. Is there a better time to go to VB for the waves?

I didn't even think about that. Your right, I know when we went to Co-Co beach last summer it was very tame to say the least.
We are used to the waves of the Jersey Shore and OC MD.
And actually now that I think about the Ron Jon's surf class that was going on at the time, it seemed like the waves they were able to catch were few and far between. I was hoping Vero Beach would have more waves.
I guess next year it will be HHI.
