Are there any real advantages/disadvantages to getting a studio over an inn room? The only real difference I can see is than a studio has a sofa bed and an inn room has two double beds, and some inn rooms have a guaranteed ocean view.

I'm writing to you from an Ocean-View Inn Room right now!!

I guess another consideration would be the location of the two.

We have had a lot of rain, and it's been very nice to be able to get to Shutters, the Green Cabin Room, and the gift shop without having to walk outside in the rain. We haven't used it, but the laundry is in the main building, also.

The Ocean View is worth it to me - but YMMV.

I think there are also laundry facilities in the outer buildings. We went walking around on our last visit to peek into a studio layout to see if we would like it. DH really likes a sofa to sit on when he watches TV, so on our next visit, in March, we're getting a studio. I very much enjoy the ocean view rooms, but I'm willing to giving this a try.

Bobbi :)

I'm glad to know that the main building/inn rooms have two beds -- my kids prefer the bed to the sofa.

Do the inn rooms still have the same kitchenette that a regular studio has?

Interesting note re. VB studios:to date, we have only been to VB once and we stayed in a studio. It was quite nice -- AND had a VCR in the studio. I don't think that I've seen a VCR in any of the WDW DVC resorts -- only in the 1,2 bedrooms or GV's.

Yes, the Inn rooms have kitchenettes similar to those found in the studios.

The Inn rooms also have VCRs - believe the one in our Ocean View Inn room was a combination VCR/DVD.

We really enjoyed our OV Inn room - it had a wall of windows overlooking the ocean, a balcony overlooking the pool, 2 queen beds and a small sleep sofa adjacent to the kitchenette, which was separated from the sleeping area by a hallway. I don't think all the OV rooms are laid out that way - but we sure lucked out!

Best wishes -

We've stayed in studios twice, both with ocean views. One was certainly better than the other and you're just lucky if the view happens at all (although I ALWAYS request)! Our one bedroom was on the first floor and had no ocean view. There was a washer & dryer in the basement of the studios where the parking is. It's a small room by the elevator. I think the biggest differences are the ocean view for sure if you book it in the inn and the sofa bed as opposed to the real bed. I will say I think the inn room seemed bigger than the studio.

CarolMN -- I think I'd like to live there, lol! It sounds like it is a wonderful room/location. Hope we can get back to VB soon!! Thanks for your post. :goodvibes

Note that the point costs are the same for a Studio (w/possible ocean view) and Ocean View Inn room (w/guaranteed ocean view). The garden view inn rooms are a couple of points less per night.

Also, the Inn rooms have 2 Queen beds, not doubles. Another thing, average square footage is slightly higher in the Inn rooms, tho the fact that there is a sofabed in the studio rather than a real bed taking up space, is an offsetting factor.

All in all, we prefer the guaranteed ocean view for the points. This year we are getting a 2br tho, and that'll be a first for us. The we are hoping my parents will come down and join us in it, and stay a few extra days on their own in a garden view inn room.

Enjoy!

There are some Inn rms with king beds and a sleep sofa. They are very large and they are in the main lodge. We had one in may for DW birthday visit. :goodvibes

I agree with an eailier poster in that I prefer the Inn rooms. It's great being right by the resturants, lobby, Green Cabin, and the store.

Post deleted since I could not post my picture of the view from my OVIR.
