Can anyone share with me what the views are like at Vero Beach? What rooms actually face the ocean (if any)?

When we travel to the beach, my DH wants ocean front and I told him I wasn't sure about Vero and what it has to offer.

Thanks!

we have been to VB 4 tmes and booked ocean view inn rooms 3 times ,each time we got a room overlooking the pool with a view of the ocean to the side and also along the beach , there are rooms ocean front but i do not know what type they are

All of the 3BR Beach Cottages have a wonderful ocean view since they look out over the dunes. Most of the Inn Rooms in the main lodge area at VB will have an ocean view but otherwise only the top floor villas have an ocean view (and not all of those can actually see the ocean). Most of the VB villas are ocean front, but not ocean view since the Beach Cottages and dunes obscure the view from those villas. Most villas look over the Commons area at the resort and others do overlook the pool.

We have stayed in a 2nd floor Studio - ocean front, with no view of the ocean and in a top floor 1BR with a nice view of the ocean.

You can hear the surf from the balconies and certainly the beach is a close walk from the resort.

We have a dedicated 2 bedroom booked for July 23-31, 2010, with a waitlist for a beach cottage.
I thought I had read that non of the dedicated 2 bedrooms face the beach or pool or common area, rather the parking lot.
Is this correct.
Thank you.

Thank you for the information. We are thinking about adding a few Vero days to our trip next year and wanted to know what we were getting before we decided!

The dedicated 2-bdrm units are shown in the blue below. The bottom of the u-shaped buildings face the ocean so non of them actually face the ocean. However if you get one on the north the north side of bldg 12 or the south side of bldg 15 you will be able to see the ocean from your balcony if you are on the 2nd or 3rd floor.

We stayed in a north-facing studio in Villa 12, and this was the view from our balcony:

The studio was on the top floor. I don't have the room number right now, because our Mac is in for a repair. However, if you look at the top sketch above, our studio was the light purple one on the left. (The roof you see is Cottage 1150.) We loved the location!

The best choice for a full ocean view is a Beach Cottage. :lovestruc

But given that they are expensive and hard to come by, the second choice is an Ocean View Inn Room (OVIR). Most of the OVIR are facing east (ocean) but some do face south (pool) or north. The east facing rooms will have a full ocean view while the north and south rooms will have an ocean view to the side. The OVIRs have 2 queen beds and a kitchenette similar to the studios.

The studios, 1 bedrooms and 2 bedroom lock-offs have a small chance of having an ocean view, but most will not. Assume you will not have one, feel lucky if you happen to be given one.

The resort is very small so you are never far from the beach, or anything.
