We are going to VB the middle of July for 3 nights. First I had an OVIR for the first and third night. I was wait listed and now I have all 3 nights in a Garden View.

My party consisted of me and my twin 12 YO boys. We are going to a Baseball tournament in Cocoa Beach after we leave VB. Now we have another player from the team joining us so it is me and 3 12 YO's.

I don't want to get a studio because I would rather have the 2 beds. What is the Garden View like? I am wondering if I should wait list for a 1 bedroom so we have more room. I know it only has one bed but it is a king and then we would have more room in the front room with the sleeper and a blow up mattress. It would also be nice to have the full kitchen but I don't plan on cooking much but we will have breakfast in the room. I also feel like the boys could be a little more independant if they are in the main building instead of off in a detached building. I have never seen the Inn rooms. I have only stayed in a 2 bedroom. What would you do????? Any advice? I hate to use the points if its not necessary.

On another note would bell services hold all of our baseball gear so I don't have to leave it in the car?

Sorry for rambling. Thanks for any help.

Our GV was more like a parking lot view, but the whole resort was ours to enjoy.

I don't know how an airbed would fit into either a studio or an inn room, but I'm guessing that someone has done it. I would try for the 1 bedroom.

I've never stayed in a GVIR, but have stayed in several OVIR. The OVIRs that I've been in have varied in sizes. Some would have had room for a twin air mattress. When I get a OVIR, my kids couldn't care less about the view - it's for me! If you think your boys will be spending most of their time at the pool and beach and not in the room, then I think an Inn Room would be fine. If you think they'll spend a load of time in the room, a 1BR (if available) might be better. As far as breakfast in the room, you'll have a microwave & fridge in the Inn Rooms - I'm sure three twelve year old boys would be fine with any breakfast you could fix in an Inn Room.

Yep, it's pretty much going to be parking lot.

Thanks for the opinions. I think the boys will spend little time in the room. I think I will stick with a Inn room. Maybe I will wait list for an Ocean View and see if anything comes up. I agree the view is for me and not them. I know I plan on spending little time in the room but ever since I joined DVC I always have to have breakfast or at least an OJ every morning on the balcony. I don't relish the thought of doing it looking at the parking lot but I was lucky to get what I did.

About the air mattress. I took one last trip when we stayed at OKW. It was a double. The beds there are off the ground just high enough we were able to slide it under the bed in morning and pull it out every night. That was in a studio. It worked great. I'm hoping the beds at VB are the same but I do think I need to stick with a twin.

Thanks again for the help.

twinmom -

I am glad to hear about the air mattress working so well at OKW because I plan to use one this summer for my kids.

Frankly, I love the OVIR, but more than that I love being at VB. I think I could take a windowless room and be happy at VB. Think about putting the air mattress on the balcony too. I could do that... and be real happy. That might sound weird, but ask a young boy or girl, and I think that might be a real happy option.

I am afraid the noseeums would eat them alive. Last time we were there one of my sons and I had it bad while the other two and DH had none.

Those noseeums really pick their favorites! DH will get eaten alive and have problems for two to three weeks. I never have a bite - and I'm sure I'm much sweeter than he is:cutie:

I think grace is right. I (or) DW have never had any problems with the NS's and certainly not on our balcony. But I have heard some real bad stories about people that are very attractive to them.

I say try them (the boys) one at a time. If one has problem... Ok, your in.

Just kidding... You know me... I'm a kidder.

EDIT: Oops... just realized you are new to the boards. I am a kidder. Welcome to the DISboards. :beach:

EDIT: Not kidding about the Welcome though.
