Has anyone been there....your experience.....would you return again....anything to do off the resort area......shops/restaurants in town, etc. Thinking of going for two nights to break up our 12 days stay.

We went once 4 years ago and have been trying to get back every since. We had a great weekend. We are beach people, walking, swimming enjoying everything. It was so relaxing. My sister and her husband came up from Jupiter for a day. We had a nice lunch in town and the wifes shopped. We ate at Ocean Grill had a wonderful meal, food and service was great. My sister loves it so much she goes at least once a year.
We loved sitting in the lounge have coffee & desert and play some board games. People were all so friendly, I alway think that being by the ocean makes people just a bit more relaxed social.
Pool was great!! On a real too hot to sit on beach day we hung out at pool. They had activities for the kids but it was big enough not to interfere with our relaxing. Plenty of activities at the resort and plenty in the area. They have great theater in town too.
We will be empty nesters soon and hope to get back soon.

Yep! We love Vero Beach. Stayed there for the first time last year and going back this year in 37 days!! We are staying 2 nights before we check in at AKL. We also ate at Ocean Grill and loved it. The beach is beautiful, love the pool. There are several different things to do in the area. Airboat rides, turtle walks, manatee/dolphin tours, kayak tours... There is a Vero Beach thread in the DVC section of the boeard with lots of information. Here is the link.

We will be going back to Vero Beach for our third trip in October. We too are beach people and we love it there. It will be just DH and I and we always stay in an Ocean View Inn Room. It is wonderful sitting on the balcony watching sunrise over the ocean or just relaxing with a glass of wine in the evening watch the ocean.
We too enjoyed the Ocean Grill for our Anniversary dinner.
We usually head to the beach mid morning and spend the day there. We read, walk, swim, relax, repeat - it is heaven.
The pool is very nice and there are lots of activities all day long for the little ones.
We also enjoy sitting on the balcony of the Green Cabin Room.
We have not partaken in any of the other activities, but there are lots of things to do.
Enjoy.

Not a fan of FL east coast beaches. We prefer the Gulf Coast beaches as the sand is whiter, beaches are more expansive, water is warmer. We went to VB once several years ago to try it out and probably will never return. The beach was not that great, there was boardwalk to get down to the beach from the resort. And I've heard more of the beach has washed away with various storms.

we have been several times and will go again. we have stayed in the cotteges on the beach, hotel rooms, studios and 2 bedrooms. honestly i think it could use some renovating but it is a fun hotel.

We have been twice. Disney's Vero Beach resort is fantastic. We really love it and we loved the beach too. But, I could not stay there longer than 3 days.

When we last visited, we went to the treasure museum, hung out at the beach and resort, and visited the shopping area not too far from the resort.

We plan on visiting again.

Oh, our favorite room is an Inn ocean view!
