we are going to be in disneyworld june 18th thru june 25th...i'm thinking of using a few points and staying two nights at vero to suprise the wife with...now for the questions:
1) do you think i would have any problems getting a 1 bedroom unit for two nights this late into the game???
2) how long a ride is it from disneyworld to vero beach???
3) any suggestions that you might have regarding a specific building/room to request....
thanx in advance for any assistance....

From WDW to VB is 114 miles(1 hr 50 minutes). You won't know about availabilty for a 1BR until you call. I would say being only 30 days out it may be tough.

If you do get a 1BR just request top floor..........you will have a better chance of getting an ocean view.

I got a Vero Beach room at only 10 days out! They were all booked up, but they put me on a waitlist and I got it the next day. (I waitlisted for either a studio, ocean inn room or garden view inn room, so I had more opportunity to get a room.)

The inn rooms are quite nice if it's just the two of you. And they are split into garden or ocean view, so you can specify. The view is more iffy with 1-bedrooms, but up high is better (vegetation covers the ocean view below.)

If you want to do something else to treat your wife, massages at Vero are only $55 for an hour.

I think it's a couple of hours from Vero to Disney.

opps...another question...has anyone taken advantage of either the ap rate or the disney visa rate of $139 a night at vero beach...if so, what type of room was offered at that rate???
thanx again for your assistance...

I've been trying for something for 6-11 lately. I was able to get a one bedroom and then got a deluxe studio a few days later instead. No $139. deal!

The $139 rate is on a studio. We got a rate of $214.00 per night for a 1 bdrm with the DVC member discount though so you may want to check with them as to what and if they have available with that discount;)

oh well...i'm outta luck...i tried calling this morning...i attempted to reserve the room with both points via dvc and using the discount via cro...neither had a room for me...guess i need to do some better planning next time...
i should look on the bright side of it...i'll get to stay someplace new the next time i go to the "world"...
thanx for the advice...

There are 3 types of "studios". The traditional studios, the ocean view inn rooms and the garden view inn rooms. Sometimes if you don't ask, they don't offer. I think they sometimes forget.

How do the traditional studios differ from the inn rooms?
Thanks!

I was able to get the $139/night rate for a studio August 18 - 19. I called the day the deal came out. I have no idea what type of studio - I just know that I extended my 18 day HH/AKL/BW another 2 days to include VB!!!! Janis

Traditional studios have a queen size bed and a sleep sofa. The studios are located in the free-standing villa buildings. Inn rooms have two queen size beds (except for 2415 and 2419 that have king bed plus sleep sofa).
