We are planning a trip to vero beach in August 2004. I'm a little confused as to the rooms available. There will be 6 of us and I want to be on the beach if possible. What are the types of rooms that I should look at?
Thanks

They have studios, inn ocean view rooms, 1 and 2 br villas and the beach houses.

We always stay in an inn ocean view room because we want to be able to see the ocean from our balcony.
We don't get the washer/dryer, kitchen or living room with this option but we don't need that when we are at VB.

You should pick what type of unit will best suit your needs.

There are villas with ocean views but it is not guaranteed. The only way to be right on the beach is the beach cottage. For some reason, we just prefer being in the inn. It also depends on how many adults and children are in your party.

Let us know what you decide to do and have fun.

For 6, you would need two Inn rooms (it's possible to get connecting rooms), 2 one-bedrooms, a 2-bedroom (or a beach cottage for lots of space). All the accomodations are steps from the beach. Some have views of the ocean, some don't.

Grand Villas are fun, but one year I did not have enough for a GV and we got a 2bd and a inn room. I was surprised at how much lower the points for this combo was vs. the GV. It was the pretty much the same amount of room. Every one could visit in the 2bd. and the inn room gave little sis and her husband some privacy.

You didn't mention whether it was 6 adults or a combination of adults and children. I would recommend a two bedroom villa with a studio very close if not right next door. Vero villas have more space than BWV and similar size units. Or, a beach cottage which has 3 bedrooms, but they can sometimes be hard to get without the 11 month advantage.

But at Vero, it's nice to have a table 6 people can eat around, a living room area for all six to be able to relax and watch a movie, and the washer and dryer are nice, as well as the whirlpool tub, even without the ocean view guarantee. Think of all the money you'll be saving on park passes....

FYI, the VB 2BR are about 1090 sq feet if my memory is correct

The units are quite nice and all are close to the beach - there are a fair amount of trees and garden views as well - as noted a Beach Cottage is the only outside of Ocean View Inn rooms to be sure of an Ocean view

We did not have an Ocean View on our trip (had room #1411) - DW was intially a touch disappointed but then when she realised how close we were anyways, it did not matter

I have been lucky enough to have ocean views in the Inn rooms, the two bedrooms villas and of course in the Beach House (GV).

The Beach House is on the beach, however, you cannot directly access the beach from it. You will still have to walk down the path to where the main entrance to the beach is located. Views are spectacular though particularly since the living room areas are all on the top floor.
