We've stayed at VB previously in a 1BR villa. (Building 12, first floor - LOVED IT!)

I waitlisted a 1BR for September 20-25. Who knew it would be busy then? :confused3

I booked an Ocean View Inn Room. I'm worried that because it says ocean view, that just means it's on the ocean side of the inn, and if we get the 2nd or 3rd floor, we may not be able to see over the bushes. Do I need to request an upper floor in order to ensure we get an ocean view?

The ocean view is 10 more points than the garden view, and if that's what happens, I'd just rather save my points.

Also, I saw that September is the rainiest month. How do you think that will affect our vacation? Lots of people tell me September is a great time to go, but with 7 inches of rain (average) over the month, will we get to be outside at all?

Thanks!
Audrey

I don't think there are any bushes high enough to block the OVIR's view. However, ocean view means any of the 3 sides that face the ocean. If what you really want is a direct view, request that, not a side. It's only a request and I guess that they get that a lot!

PS. Only once did I have a GVIR, and it really was a view of the parking lot. Yes, there are gardens on the side of the pavement. I didn't have enough points for the OVIR that time...it was fine, but ever since then we've only stayed in OVIR or larger! (Well, DH picked a studio stay once, but even he didn't like that, it was first floor and much too public to sit out and enjoy the balcony.)

You're right to be concerned, OVIR can mean just a side view of the ocean from the balcony. 2nd floor, eye level to the palms, which is just what we got last week. It didn't matter so much because we did not spend much time in the room but in future I would either ask to be moved or simply not spend the points and get a regular room. The resort was not full so I could have asked but just let it go.

As far as the weather, we are having a typical summer, torential rain between 3-4pm and then sunny skies from there. The beach was beautiful last week, it did rain 2 out of the 3 days we were there but as I said for less than an hour and then the sun came back out.

We left the pool at the 1st sign of grumbling, it rained, we showered and relaxed and got ready for dinner and it was beautiful from then on!

Make sure to fit in a massage, they're very affordable at Vero, around $70.

Have a wonderful time.
