Hi!!:thumbsup2

Just wondering a few things-

Is there a minimum stay over the holidays (I was thinking of either 1 or 2 nights from 12/30/10 in an OVR and just paying $$$ rather than renting points):confused3:thumbsup2

Is it still a nice place to be with small children if the weather isn't great?? (I would be looking at a couple of nights maximum, really to just relax after a cruise)

Do all OVR's have a good ocean view and can they all hear the ocean?? We like the idea of hearing the ocean from our balcony!!

Can you arrive really early - say 10am???

Thanks for any info!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

no

I would think so, but have not done this myself

Definately ask for a direct ocean view OVIR - some are better than others, and generally you should be able to hear the surf

yes, but like with any Disney resort, your room maynot be ready until 4 or 5 pm -- but you can be issued your KTTW cards for charging and pool/beach access.

Regarding staying at Vero when the weather isn't great....

It depends for how long. We love Vero but don't usually stay there longer than 4 days anyway. If the weather was bad for a number of days I think it would get very frustrating. Our friends were there this spring break and there were a number of full rain days in a row. They drove back to Orlando early as the weather wasn't clearing up.

Yes you can check in early, but mousekeeping here at VB is not the fastest. Don't know if it's them, people who check out late or the people that make huge messes in their rooms.

Last yr I didn't get my 2br villa until after 6pm and to get that they had to change my room. The one we did get just had the carpet cleaned and it was still damp.

Don't know if it's spring break or what, but it took them from 10:30-4pm ish to clean one of the beach cottages. I'm at Vero right now. We took a later flight into MCO and got to VB about 7pm last Sat.

We just got back from Vero. It was our first trip. Very nice resort. Beautiful pool and beach. We had an ocean view inn room and yes, we could hear the ocean and see it. It was very nice. Our kids are 7 and almost 5 and it rained the first day we got there. We didn't venture outside the main building and, you couldn't get to the community hall, gameroom, refillable mug stand or any of that without going outside. Even with good weather, we decided that a couple days was perfect for us there, and ended up going to Disney for a night. If it was bad weather for the trip, I think you'd run out of things to do.

thanks everyone for their replies!!:)

We would only be there for 2 nights (and would be leaving early on the 3rd morning) - so I reckon even if the weather isn't great it will be good for us to have some quiet family time after the excitement of wdw and dcl!:cloud9::thumbsup2:thumbsup2

What is the closest airport to Vero? MCO? Contemplating a trip, wondering what kind of drive we are looking at.
