Hi all,
I am geetting ready to reserve our first Vero Beach accomodations for the fall (at 7 months, our home resort is BCV)
Our adult daughter may come with us - but she is waffaling in her decision.
If she comes we will definitely reserve a 1 BR and she will sleep on the sofa. I did tell her today she has 5 weeks to make a firm decision. We would love to treat her to a beach vacation, but she has to work out work issues, boarding her dogs etc.
The dilemna is if she doesn't come.
I love the 1 BR Villas. I like the kitchen, the King Bed, the Washer/Dryer and all the extra room of a 1 BR. We have the points and I would book it just for the 2 of us.
However, I think DH would like the Ocean View from the balcony of the OVIR. I have read great things about them here, but I worry that being in a "regular" hotel room with no sofa or added space will not be comfortable.
I also thinkI may cook in some while at VB (I never do at WDW).
Any advice or guidance is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance

How long are you going for? I feel that if we are going for longer than 4 nights then a 1 bedroom would suit us better. I love the ocean view but being in a room with 2 beds does get old pretty quickly. I love having the living area as well as the kitchen in the 1 bedrooms, even for just DH and I. It's nice to not have to go out to eat all the time. Also remember that some of the ocean view rooms are better than others. You could wind up with a view of the pool (and a side view of the ocean).

We will be going for 7 nights, probably a Saturday to Saturday. We haven't decided on the exact dates yet.

Ah, seven nights I am so jealous! My own personal feeling is to go with the 1 bedroom, especially if you have the points to do so! The extra space, the kitchen, the laundry are all great reasons to stay in one. And then if your daughter decides to join you, you will be all set. If you do go that route I would request an upper floor. Perhaps you will get a glimpse of the ocean from your balcony. We had an upper floor 2 bedroom in building 15 and we could see the ocean from our balcony. Not as nice as the view from an OVIR but still okay. It's funny, I wouldn't spring for a 1 bedroom at WDW if it was just DH and I but Vero is so much more relaxing and staying in a 1 bedroom feels more like home. Enjoy your trip!!

I also vote for the one bedroom -another reason is that if (god forbid) you have some bad weather it sure is nicer to hang out in the one bedroom than a OVIR. Don't miss the oj at Hales in Sebastian!

In your situation, I'd get a 1BR. 1 week is a long time in a studio without kitchen facilities. We have been in both an OVIR and 1BR at VB. Both are great, but, for the longer stay, I'd go for the 1BR.

Go for the extra space with the 1 br. Plus, this gives your daughter more time to decide if she can join you.

Thanks everyone for the replies.
You have all supported my "gut" of wanting to get the 1 bedroom. I do think that I may cook in some over the week. I don't usually do more than breakfast at WDW, but I think here at Vero I may.
Thanks Again
