I am looking for some info. I am thinking about buying at vero or HH. Has anyone found one better than the other? A broad and open question I know, but what I'm looking for is not what one you like better, but 1) Is HH easy to get to by air (from NYC area or Hartford CT)? 2)from NYC how long does it take to get to HH there by driving? etc...
I own at BWV and love it there but I also would like to own at VB or HH. So if anybody has has opinions one way or another please post. Any info would be helpful

Hilton Head takes less driving time from NYC than to drive to Vero Beach. :D

Seriously though, flying into Hilton Head is expensive since it is a small airport. You need to plan to fly into Savannah, GA (45 minutes away) or into Charleston (1 and a half hours away)if you are looking for cheap flights.

From westchester, NY, HH is about a 13 hr drive. I go thru I-81 instead of I-95. This is a little longer route, but less congested and a lot more scenic traveling thru the Shenadoah Valley region.

If you plan to drive most of the time, then HH may be a better choice. You'll be able to stop first at HH, and then continue your trip to Orlando. This is what we did on our last trip in Nov.

Just my two cents, but we like to split up a trip between OKW and Vero and it is so easy to do.

We own at Hilton Head and love it. Sooo relaxing.

I would suggest spending a couple of days at each resort and then make up your mind.

If you drive often I'd go for HH, it's an ideal place for a stop off on route, it's also a great venue in it's own right.

Having visited both I think both have their charm. Vero has a more "hotel" feel to it, IMHO is a quieter destination, possibly better suited to younger children and younger couples. HH is a bit more "happening", I think would be the prefered choice of teens ( this could be a vote against by the parents LOL) and probably better for older couples as well.

It's not an easy choice I would go by your prefered transport. If you will fly most ti,mes I'd go Vero, if you'll drive I'd go HH. They are both ABSOLUTELY fantastic resorts.

Thankx for the advice..What would help is to buy at both, but I can only choose one. I just have to think about it. Thanks again

What time of year will you be planning most of your vacations? Summer or Winter? If your thinking of winter vacations, consider Vero, of course due to more favorable weather. I wanted to be able to secure beach time at the Christmas and spring break crunch times, so I went with Vero to have the 11 month advantage there. If you'll be vacationing more in the summer, HH may be a good choice. You'll need the 11 month window to get in during the peak summer months. I think one of the more important factors is when will most of your vacations be.

I also liked the fact that Vero is directly on the beach, instead of HH where the resort is separate with a great beach house and separate vacation homes 2 miles away. There is not much around Vero, while HH is a vacation community with very wide beaches and bicycling available in many locations. Hmmmm..... just a few thoughts that will hopefully help......
