Vero Beach - looking for information

For next years vacation I am thinking I need a break from the crowds and intensive planning of WDW, but I am still looking to receive my annual dose of Disney.

Anyone have any information or thoughts on the Vero Beach resort? It looks beautiful and but extremely expensive. However, I like to do A LOT when on vacation, and am not one to lay on the beach and read.

It looks like it could be a really nice maybe 5 day trip but currently has rates posted of $350+ per night. Is the Disney touch still there or is it relatively generic? Would I be bored by day 2?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

It really depends on how you define do a lot. Vero requires a car, 100%, and is mostly a "lay on beach." Beach may also be in bad shape, as it is prone to erosion and the hurricanes were rough on it.
