We have been DVC members for several years but a little ashamed to admit I still haven't got the hang of how things work. We are looking for a beach vaca this summer where we can go to a resort and not have to leave property. We just want to hang out and enjoy the beach. Is Vero the place for that kind of vacation? What type of activities do they offer? We can book 6 months out - right? (Our home resort is saratoga springs) Thanks for any help.

I love Vero Beach, But the beach is kind of skinny oonly acouple of on site restarants. Kids will like activities, not so much for adults

kids are 16 & 19. They don't need to be entertained but they do enjoy family things such as fishing excursions. If there are not activities at the resort - are there nearby places to jet ski, fish, parasail?

I also thought I should add that you can book at 7 months out, so you should be calling soon. We are traveling July 26th and called December 26th, so the availability could be dwindling for each day that passes. We couldn't get Vero Beach for our July 26-30th trip at 7 months, so we kept our ressies at BLT. However, I have a large group of people traveling with my family (18 in all), so I wanted a Beach Cottage and a 2 bedroom. We could get the beach cottage for two of the nights and the 2 bedroom for three of the nights, so it just didn't work out. We're excited about staying at BLT though, so we're happy.:goodvibes Good luck!

While lots of DVC members like VB, we aren't fans. The beach is very narrow and there is a big dropoff. We like the Gulf Coast beaches better and wish DVC had built on the Gulf side instead.
