Hi, We are considering a trip to Vero Beach in late March. I know there are many fun things to do around the resort, however, I am specifically looking for any information about ocean temperature and weather at that time of year. Is it normally warm enough in late March to swim in the ocean? Thank you in advance if you can help!

We went in 2009 and 2010 in late March (spring break for our schools) for 7 nights each time. We hit one day of rain in the 14 days over those two trips. Temps in low 80s, clear skies. Ocean was cool, but kids still got in. Pool was fine, as it was heated. Given we are from IL, it seemed VERY warm to us at that time of year. We knew it was a gamble with the weather, however. But we were lucky and plan on going again that time of year in a few years.

It is really marginal. Especially with the ocean temps. I think it depends on whether your going early or late March, and where you are coming from. I personally can tolerate 69 degree water to body-board, but I wouldn't have too many other shark distractions (people) out there with me.
