Starting to plane for my June trip to Vero. This will be our first trip to Vero Beach. Looking for things to do and plan. Anyone have some pointers or places not to miss while at Vero?

My son loves to fish there at the lake. If you don't bring your own rod/reel, you can take a fishing class (I think the price is $30 mem/$35 non). The price includes rod/reel and a little bit of tackle. The lake is very stocked and he just had a ball.

Vero is wonderful. We were there in June 04 for six nights. We just relaxed on the beach and at the pool. Of course golf is cheap that time of the year, and the Kennedy Space Center is cool.

Well we spend most of the time either at the beach or pool. If you have younger kids, there are lots of activities you can sign up for. You can visit Hale groves and have fresh orange juice(yum) and there is a nice outlet mall in Vero (a girl that works for me from farther south in Florida says that everyone from all over south Florida goes to that Outlet Mall) and there is a regular mall and something like a 20 screen movie theater. Have lunch in the Green Cabin room at the resort and sit on the deck- very fun. The last time we were there my son and his girlfriend walked on the beach at night and saw one of the big turtles making her nest. They said it was very cool and the turtle was bigger than they were. But they were very lucky to see that. My sons always go golfing one day.

Thanks for you suggestions... Anyone know about how long it takes to get to Kennedy from Vero?

There was a thread a couple of years ago about what to do at VB. Received lots of postings. I'm clueless on how to search for it, but those of you with the know-how could find it easily I'm sure.
