We're considering Vero Beach for a couple nights in January. We've never been and thought it may be fun to check it out after staying at Disney World (and before heading home). It'd be 2 adults and 2 kids. Just curious if January is a good time to visit VB... I'm assuming it will be cooler but less crowded. Any pros and cons? Thanks!!

We’ve gone several times in January. It can be a little cold, but usually it was warm enough to swim, and sometimes even in the ocean. Point cost is low in January.

Thanks! All/most of the activities at the resort are open then too?

If you're going to be in Orlando in Jan you already know it can be chilly in Jan - same goes for Vero.

I seem to recall they may shorten on-property dining hours during lower demand periods, but other than that, amenities should be open.

We’ve stayed at VB a number of times in January. However, the point chart is somewhat different from those at the WDW locations at that time of year. In fact, the January through April point charts for VB appear to have been originally set up in anticipation of “snow bird” stays, and this has never changed. The lower point seasons for VB are the month of May, the period from the beginning of September to just prior to Thanksgiving, and from after Thanksgiving until just prior to Christmas. We still think it’s a good option for a non-park stay, either as an add-on to a WDW stay or as a stopover before or after a cruise out of Port Canaveral.
