We are local to the resort. We visit often, and tried tonight without a reservation. We thought perhaps with the recent relaxations we could get in.
NOT HAPPENING.

At least at VB they still have the same draconian mask and entrance rules.
shame, shame.

When was the last time you were able to walk in without a reservation - either to stay or to eat?

I kind of like this. If I’m staying there I don’t want it full of people who just walk in.
Really? Judging by the lack of crowds at both the Green Cabin Room and Wind & Waves, you would think folks would want them to stay viable. They really can use all the business they can get.

Regardless, if anyone wants to visit they can make a reservation at W&W on the spot.

We stayed for 6 nights early March and had to have reservations for Wind & Wave. The CMs told us that many members were using their excess/banked points and staying at Vero. The resort was full. This might also be the situation for a while.

You are in Vero Beach? Our friends are snowbirds and still there. Wish we could do the same. Another couple I know just moved there too - full time. We are hoping to be able to book again as soon as our 7 month window opens up.

Curious about Brightline. As a local, do you have any better idea when they will connect VB to Port of Miami? VB to MCO? I can't glean much from their website.

I do not... honestly, there is absolutely zero chatter about this, at least in the circles my wife and I participate in. Total radio silence.

Yuppers... because of DVC we became familiar with the area. My wife and I decided to build a house in Sebastian, a nine minute drive to the VB resort. Best thing we ever did.

Nice!!!! We love the vibe. We babysit our grandchildren - if we were not committed to this, we would have a condo there at Vero Beach. Our friends love it. They also have meals at Winds and Wave all the time. Enjoy!!!

Anyone know if masks are still required INSIDE pool and walking around resort and walking down to beach from pool? TIA!!!8-)

Now accepting day/local visitors!!!

great news!!
pool gets crowded weekends.. Do you mean a “day pass” or something similar???:confused3:confused3:confused3 Why should this resort be any different t than any other DVC resort which
prohibits anyone other than those staying at that resort in the pool except those that are pool hopping, which is allowed fir DVC members at certain resorts.
IF you meant by saying day/local visitors, that one pays a
“day pass fee” ,personally think this is a disservice to those paying or staying at resort on points.. ☹

I think Maistre Gracey was referring to his earlier post in this thread where he reported that VB was not allowing non-guests into the resort to dine in the restaurant without a reservation or drink in the Green Cabin Room At all. The pool (and beach access ramp) is gated to require a room key or magic band to get in. The dining room (Wind and Waves), pool bar, and Green Cabin Room (on the second floor of the main building) are all accessible without being a resort guest, but non-resort guests had been restricted even from these due to Covid restrictions.

Just to go in and eat and perhaps shop. No DVC resort sells a day pass to non-guests.

Yes, that is exactly what I mean. Thanks, Ralph or Pam!

Just before the height of covid.

Yes, my son went with his DMIL, who lives near Vero, to take some pictures for me (He also bought me a magnet) just before Covid. We've never been to Vero, and I'd asked him to get some info for me-DMIL is a DVC member.

Glad to hear they are letting you in. But couldn’t you have just pulled in and turned to the right and parked in the excess parking before building 14? Then you wouldn’t have to deal with the guard up front? Or park across the street and walk the tunnel across and just walk in?

I don’t think you can turn right and get past the guard, but I could be mistaken about that. I also assume trying to park across the street may arouse suspicion. Honestly I’ve gone through the tunnel many times over the years, but never even noticed a driveway in.

Regardless, if I’m not suppose to be there I will respect that. Just not worth trying get away with something.
