My mom is convinced that the top floor of the Inn has rooms other than studio (based on the placement of the doors in the hallway).

So, does anyone know for sure what is on the top floor of the Inn?

Thanks!!!!

If there are they aren't available to the public. Technically, studios at VB are in the smaller Villa buildings and the rooms in the inn are Ocean View Inn Rooms. OVIR. There IS on the top floor 4 OVIR rooms with a king bed and sofa instead of the all the other double queen rooms.

I think it is a matter of the roof playing into the different layouts on that level and the reason for some king bed rooms.

The roof line does affect the inside of the inn rooms. Some of the walls have angled sections as they follow the slant of the roof.

I didn't pay a whole lot of attention, but I do recall some doors that were marked as 'staff' or 'maintenance' etc. so some of the 'rooms' aren't actually guest rooms. For example we had one almost next to our room which appeared to be a small storage closet, perhaps for the maids.

Maybe those are some of the 'extra doors' that she's seeing?

Because of the roof line they have a lot of interesting shaped rooms and storage areas. Below is the floor plan taken off the door of our room on the 4th floor. I count 29 rooms on the 4th. The laundry room is near the elevator. I believe there are 3 king rooms on the 4th (2 are the reported OVIR Kings and one GV in the opposite corner - possibly HA)

We did stay in a king room on the 4th floor once. It had a king bed and a sleeper sofa. I believe there are a few of these in the resort because of how the room is layed out.

We like the corner rooms, too. They tend to be bigger and are shaped differently.

Way back when, the corner rooms we used to stay in had sofas in them, I think.

BTW, we really liked the king room we stayed in. It was HUGE!

Ocean View Inn Room :)

Hey Pam... haven't seen you for while.... In case you didn't read my post on the VB Adoration thread... thanks for the report on the shark attack at VERO...

Just kidding... I don't like sharks (in my water) and so I tend to ignore such reports, but you gave coroborating evidence so I am now a bit SCARED :scared: at VB...

Maybe you have saved my life... with my new awareness of the DAMN sharks... Thanks... Really. Rob.

There are mislabled doors/signs at Vero Beach in the inn. Specifically DH walked around and around trying to find the trash room that the sign pointed to. When he finally asked a CM, he was told that there is no trash room, just leave the bag outside the door and a CM will pick it up. This CM said that there hasn't been a trash room that the sign was indicating for quite a few years, if ever.

I've looked at the floor configuration and wondered if there are rooms without balconies, but when I asked at check in, a few of the CM's talked about it and they thought that all rooms had a balcony. Some of the rooms seem not to have window dressings/curtains. As I look at your layout, doesn't there seem to be a room or two in the front without a balcony. There's a door within the room, but are the two rooms always booked together? We had an unused internal door on our trip last week.

I was wondering the same thing our last trip. That's what started the picture taking of the floor plan. Where are the rooms you are concerned about? All the rooms on the 4th floor appear to have a balcony. If you look at a picture of the inn (even the one in my sig) you can identify the balconies for each room. I wasn't so sure about the 3rd floor. There are two 'rooms' that I can't figure out that have in inner corner facing the ocean and porch area. The front desk CM assured me as well that all rooms have balconies.

I was on the 3rd floor room 2319, and next door there was a balcony, but the room down the hall after that one...that's one that I particularly wondered about. I'm sorry, I didn't check out numbers.

Between us and my MIL, I think we've stayed in most of the OVIR's in the resort. Is there a particular room number that you think doesn't have a balcony?

I was in 2319, my question is about the room 2 doors down, perhaps that would be 2323. I am assuming that the OVIR are the odd numbers.

I think one of the rooms my MIL stayed in last month was 2321 and she had a balcony.

I believe she also stayed in 2218 if there is such a room and that also had a balcony.

We stayed in a corner room last year that had windows that faced the ocean and a little balcony that faced the campfire area. That room was huge and L shaped. It was on the 3rd or 4th floor.

I'm curious about two rooms on the third floor. They would be under the rooms that I marked with an 'X' but on the 3rd floor.

Right where that palm tree is on the third floor...

Could this inner corner be part of that big corner room??

Not sure what you mean by the 'big corner room', but I do think you're right that those inner rooms do NOT have balconies. Boy wouldn't that be disappointing.

lisareniff,

I'm pretty certain that we have stayed in the corner room on the 3rd floor-Northeast corner of the resort.

Yes, it did have a balcony. The wall that faces the ocean was almost all windows and the balcony was on the side of the building facing the campfire area.

At first, I didn't like it but then it grew on me. The room was huge. There is a huge open area when you walk in and the kitchenette is in that area. You then walk around a corner a bit and there is a bathroom and the bed area. The beds face the ocean.

I believe this room used to have a sofa in it way back when.

Wait...

That drawing doesn't correspond with the layout of the room we stayed in. Hmmmm. Maybe we were on the second floor. I know that we were in the corner room.
