...I just booked a 3 night stay at Vero Beach in October, followed by a stay at OKW. I haven't been to Vero, so what are the "don't miss" activities? I have 3 kids who will be 9, 7 & 5 when we go...THANKS! :cool1:

No Vero Beach fans here? I'm surprised to not get any responses, I'm sure you all have "favorite" things to do when you go there!

We are going to Vero for 3 days at the end of Oct then to the Beach Club Villa. Our first time to Vero so I would like to hear if there are any musts.

We did not travel with children, but they seemed to have many activities for them. I saw CMs playing games with small groups on the lawn in front (ocean side) of the verandah. I overheard a little girl telling her mother about the "un-birthday" party she had been to-it sounded like she had a good time. Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8:30 they have a campfire sing-a-long-I'm sure they'd like that? You will get a weekly list when you check in that lists everything going on-some activities have a fee, most did not if I remember correctly. The pool and beach are wonderful-I'm sure you'll have a great time!

Are you kidding... VB is Awesome! If you are a relax/beach family type then VB is DVC's best kept secret.

Favorite things:
  1. Relax w/ a frozen drink poolside.
  2. Get up early and watch sunrise.
  3. Drink and a meal at the Green Cabin Room @ sunset
  4. Play Shuffle Board
  5. Swim in the Ocean
  6. Visit Squidlips
  7. Pool Slide
For Kids
  1. Unbirthday Party
  2. Turtle Troop
  3. Camp Fire
  4. Activities Galor

My son, who was 10 at the time, really enjoyed archery - seems like they had it 3 times a week while we were there in Oct. He also took a trip to the nearby environmental center (forgot the name) and then went out in the water and looked at all the creatures that they found in their nets. This was with one of the resort naturalists. My younger son, who was 6 at the time, enjoyed the unbirthday party and also the Kids night out. All three kids (even DD13) enjoyed the campfire. They boys also enjoyed having a golf pass to play mini-golf whenever they wanted.

3 days? - I'd just plan on enjoying the resort!
-pool
-beach (rent a couple chairs & unbrella for a day)
-check out the mini golf and arcade
-an evening in the Green Cabin room

Nice place to unwind :)

Thanks, everyone. We definitely plan to enjoy & relax. In fact, I would be happy just staying at the resort and resting before we get to WDW. But I know there are activities like the un-birthday party, campfire, etc. that my kids would really enjoy. Do you get a list of activities from the resort when you check in, or should I investigate before-hand? Is there a website that would give me info on the resort's activities?

Each week could be different. I have last week's list of activities. I'm saving it to show my family and give them an idea of what to expect when we all go next June. I'm happy to make a copy and send it to you! PM me if you'd like.

We are on our way in 5 weeks :yay:
My daughter can't wait for thewaterslide races at the pool! They also have a DJ at the pool on th weekend. Great resort to soak up the sun and RELAX! Have fun!

We did a river cruise (off-site) that was awesome. It was 3 hours and we saw dolphins, manatee, gators, turtles, all sorts of fun stuff.

A definite must-do is relaxing. I'm a park commando so it took me a day to unwind. We loved Vero. Can't wait to go back!

Oh, and get up early to watch the sunrise. It's gorgeous! They have sheets at the lobby that tell you the sunrise time, so get out to the beach about 25 minutes before the listed time.

mufasa0505, Where was that river cruise, do you remember? My DS7 is a big nature lover (his favorite animal is a sloth, okay?) and he would probably love it if we could squeeze it in! THANKS!

We are leaving in 4 days for VB for Spring Break. This will be our second Spring Break trip and our favorite thing to do is nothing. Sit by the pool or ocean and relax. Our DD 10 and her friend did like the kids night out event. They also loved the campfire sing along. :goodvibes

We are at 19 days and counting!!:cool1: dds are both looking forward to the waterslide and mini golf. I am looking forward to doing nothing, but RELAXING!
