We'll be staying at WDW for 5 days starting 10/18. I have heard on the VB thread about Vero Beach Day Passes. Has anyone gotten one? I would like to bring my family down to Vero Beach for 1 day and go on the beach and have lunch at the Green Cabin Room and maybe use the pool or miniature golf. My husband and I are the only actual members, but there are 5 others that will be staying in either AK or SSR for those 5 days. If we drove all the way down there and then were not able to get on the beach from the resort, is there another way to get on it? I KNOW we can have lunch in the Green Cabin Room because my husband and I met many locals not staying at the resort last time we went.

We did but we both are members I think it would be ok if they are in your party. They are so friendly at this resort.

If all goes wrong you can walk north on A1A in front of the resort for about 500 steps and right about another 500 steps and you will be able to enter the beach from a public entrance. This will be bordering the Disney resort. So, if you walk to the right on the beach you will be on the beach in front of the Disney Resort.

How do you go about getting a day pass? What did you do? Did you just walk up to the front desk that day, or did you call ahead? TIA :goodvibes

When you get to the front gate just tell them you are visiting for the day. The guard will tell you where to park. Go to the lobby and if you just want to eat go right to the restaurant or if you want to go to the beach and pool go to the desk tell them you are visiting for the day and they will ask for ID ... drivers license and membership card. They will give you a map of the premises and a key for the beach and pool. They are really friendly and any questions just ask!! Lunch at Shutters you get a discount don't forget. (through the lobby and to the right there is restroom and Shutters)

Wow, thanks for the info! This is great to know. We normally stay at VB whenever we fly down to MCO (whether for the whole trip or just part of it). The next trip is a gathering at a THV with my Dsis/family & Mom, so we did not make our normal reservation for a beach getaway. However, it's good to know we have this option in case DH and I decide we'd like a day at the beach!

Depending when you go, you may wish to call VB first. If VB is at or near capacity they maynot grant pool access.

Thanks, I was planning to call if we elect to do this since our trip isn't until June (and who knows what could change by then). Worse comes to worse, we could always check for availability of a GVIR for 8 or 9 pts. to use as a day room if they don't allow a day pass for walk-ins.

PH or a day pass are not technically available but occasionally VB will allow visitors if not too busy depending on the staff on duty. I certainly wouldn't drive down expecting it without a phone call that said OK and noting the name of the person who agreed to it.

When I called HHI to do the day pass thing I was told no! They said only members staying at the resort could use the facilities. I would definitely call VB before going. It's not a given and they don't have to allow guests.

Thanks Dean!!!...I never would have thought to mention anything like this!

You'd be surprised how far true and accurate documentation can get you. I once had MS tell me that there were BBQ grills at VB and I acted accordingly buying steaks to grill only to find out later there weren't any grills. At that time there weren't and they were added in part due to our problem I understand. They offered to grill them for us but ended up buying our party of 9 lunch instead. They were very gracious making suggestions and offers without being prompted but I'm convinced had it not been for the emails that documented this, I would have been out of luck.
