Vero Beach Cottage at 7 months?!!

I was just wondering whether anyone has ever been lucky enough to get a beach cottage at the 7 mnth stage......or is it completely unheard of?!!

I have heard of a few getting a BC at 7 months. I expect it would depend on the time of year and weekend vs. weeknight. I think it would be very difficult mid-Feb through the beginning of Sept. during the week and Thanksgiving & Christmas holiday weeks.

We were at VB during my spring break in March. The family that had one of the BC's had only booked more recently..I seem to recall that he said at 5 months.

A few years ago in January, I was able to book one over MLK weekend. We checked in on a thursday and out on Monday. This was 7 months out. Don't know when you are going, but those cottages are wonderful!

Maybe all is not lost! We would be looking to go in July for 4 nights Sun-Thursday! I thought it would be imposible, but now I have some hope! Would love to hear from anyone else who has been lucky, or not so lucky!

We got 4 nights in May one year at 7 months out. It was so nice we had to add on at that resort!!

It's so good to know that it's not a complete no hope situation!!
Is it possible to make a cash reservation and then cancel this and use points at the 7 mnth mark?!! Not sure of the logistics of this!!!
ha! ha! We own at Vero, but not enough points to book a beach cottage at 11 mnths!!!

DVC points inventory and cash inventory are completely separate, so I'm thinking that probably would not work. What about banking and borrowing with your Vero points, would 3 years of points do it?
