Vero Beach bound I hope - Need Advice

We are wait-listed for Vero Beach, 8/7 to 8/10 which we hope will come through (then we head to BCV 8/10 to 8/17)

My question is: we fly into Orlando. What recommendations do you have for us to go from the Orlando airport to VB on 8.7 and then from VB to BCV on 8/10.

I need to check further, but what I saw on car rental websites was outrageously expensive. I need help from some folks who have done this before.

BTW: there are 5 of us in our party.
