Did ya read that Vero Beach is getting beach restoration this month? 500 tons of sand. Article is on DVCnews.com. Beach should be great this summer!
Thanks for the head's up on this BWV Dreamin ...sounds great !

Lisa.....love the youtube video. Thanks for posting it !

Chim Chiminey.....I don't recall seeing sand dollars. The shells are ok......a few good ones here and there, but alot were broken up. My kids still enjoyed collecting them. Even my teen son, who at the time was collecting them to give to his gf back home.

Happy Valentine's Day to all !

Hello - I just booked our reservations today! :woohoo: Please add us to the roll call for 9/6/2008 - 9/12/2008. Thank you!

We will be staying at Disney's Vero Beach Feb 24-28 and spending most of the time at Dodgertown with friends.

I asked this question on another thread on the Planning Board, but have not gotten a response. I was told by the DVC reservations person that there are a few VB studios with water view. Is that correct and if so, is there a certain location, in addition to "water view", I should request? It isn't a big deal, but it would be nice to have. I know that the OVIRs have great views, but I prefer a studio because I want the sofa, and I don't need two beds. Thanks.

Okay.... It has been almost 2 years since I've been there  but I did notice that the Villa building 12 (on the north end) had the most tall vegetation removed by the hurricanes and almost an unobstructed view except for the 1150 and 1250 cottages being in the way. I think this would be your best bet. 2nd choice maybe Villa building 15, of which the east side looks through a gap in the cottages, but still had a lot of vegetation around it.

Now... I don't even know the layout of the villa buildings, so I don't how the studios face. I am hoping lisareniff or starbox or someone else can address that.

Good Luck :beach:

Our first visit to Vero was last August and we are going again this August!!:goodvibes Please add us to your roll call - Aug. 18th - 22nd!!

We have almost always vacationed in August, either at Disney or at the Outer Banks, NC and it's ALWAYS very hot and humid. But, on the bright side, there is a wonderful pool and, of course, the OCEAN!! Last year at Vero we had my parents with us and it was too hot for them, but they weren't in the water much. Myself, and my husband, and our kids love the water. As far as the rain, last year we had only one brief period of rain and it was at night. Who knows what will happen this year? At Disney in August, there are almost always storms that roll through in the afternoon. But, they are most often brief. So, just have an alternate plan and try to enjoy no matter what the weather!! :goodvibes Have a wonderful vacation!!!

07/20 - 07/25 ddhoeg
07/21 - 07/25 Harley-Mouse
07/22 - 07/25 starbox

This is the list who will be there. Would you like to meet at the pool for a drink?

Can anyone recommend a car service and an approximate cost if you are not renting a car and flying in? What about traveling from VB to WDW? My parents are thinking about doing 1 week at VB then 2 weeks at WDW in January but don't want to rent a car. Thanks for any info.

BWVDreamin : How was the August weather, was it way too hot? Alot of rain?
We usually go during August. It will be hot and humid (most likely 85-95), but Philly is the same in August so we are conditioned to it during the summer. A couple years we vacationed in August, Philly was actually hotter and more humid than FL (I believe this was the case in 2006). And yes, you will get those 2-4 pm thunderstorms.

The heat is easier to take a Vero because of the ocean breeze. Make sure you rent an umbrella though as the sun will cook you very quickly. We had sunscreen on during our last visit to Vero in August and we all still got a bit burned. Remember to reapply that sunscreen.

June 14th - 21st for Sam and Joan Steele. First time. We got he last available studio when the 7th month window opened.

Last year in August, at Ocean City, Md.,it got to 100 degrees on the beach!! Real tempurature!! I thought to myself, it can't be any worse in Florida! :goodvibes

I'm up for a meet - but Green Cabin Room gets my vote!

How many of us have kids? I've got a 9 & 11 year old that will be close to 10 & 12 by then.

You got that right BWV Dreamin.....that is my point. It can be just as hot in our neck of the woods in August as in FL.

Will it be possible to get a 2bdrm at the 7mth window for March? Since I've never been to VB, I don't have a handle on whether or not it's a really big resort that handles a lot of people or more of a smaller resort where you have to own to get the prime times.

TIA!:thumbsup2
