Vero Beach Activities?

Hi there...

Myself, DH and DD (5 yesterday!!)will be over in Florida in August (a first vacationing in the summer as DD in now in school ). We will be at our home resort (BCV) and on the Wonder but will begin by recovering from the long flight by spending a couple of days at VB.

The last time we came, DD was only 2 years old - but she LOVED the campfire . Anyone care to share some details of activites for our 5 yar old? How often do they have the campfire - would hate to book the wrong days!!!

We were at VB a few weeks ago between Christmas and New Years. It is likely that events and programs change dramatically with the seasons but the campfire/sing along/smores making was held every other evening while we were there.

Other things she may like to do might be the scavenger hunt (go at your own pace finding things from a list provided at Eb and Flos) everyone who completes got a small prize. There are various programs with cast members, crafts, towel animal making etc. The little ship by the pool (the Tinker Belle?) looked like great fun for the younger kids. There were also programs such as looking at the sun spots with a filtered telescope during the day and star gazing at night.

Plus during the time you are there in August I believe it falls in the turtle nesting time so there may be some things to do based on that.

I am sure people who go to VB often will give you plenty of ideas but I think you'll have a good bit to do for a few days - remember to relax after all Have a great trip.

Are there activities for teens at VB?

I am certainly no VB expert, but we did have a teen with us on our recent trip. There are things like tennis, basketball, teen dodgeball, mini golf (not the most demanding course but fun) and we saw many teens meeting on the corquet lawn for games of touch football (with nerf ball) etc.

Hopefully someone else can give you more info.
