Can anyone share their experiences of a VBR 1-bedroom? Are they as nice as the WDW DVC 1-bedrooms? Also, what are the chances of booking one for three nights at the 7 month window in early June?

Would we be more able to enjoy a 1-bedroom at VBR than we would in WDW? Originally, we were planning on staying in a studio at SSR, then moving to a deluxe inn room at VBR, then moving to a 1-bedroom at BWV or OKW. Now, we are thinking of staying in a 1-bedroom at VBR and and only staying at studios at whatever DVC resort we stay at in WDW.

Ideally, I'd stay in 1-bedrooms everywhere, but we only have about 300 points to work with (bc/ of banking). We bought the minimum 150 points, so I'd like to carry at least 15 points of the 300 point total over into the next year.

So, what do you think....1-bedroom at VBR or at a DVC resort in WDW?

We love the 1 BR's at VB. The kitchen area has an open island (as I think OKW does) which we like--it's just has a more spacious feel to it. You gotta love the little turtle accents on the tile backsplash, too. The 1 BR's have a round table (vs built-in nook area) and the balconies have a table and chairs as well. We love eating breakfast outside when we're there.

We like the "seashore/beach" decor-and I keep wishing I could take the TV cabinet from the bedroom home.

Personally, I would (if possible) go for the bigger space while at VB.
We seem to make more use of the room there than we ever do at WDW. You may as well be comfy and relaxed at the same time...that's what it's all about, right?

I never stayed in a 1 bedroom at VBR but I did tour one several years ago. They were very nice......big.....more comparable to the OKW 1 bedrooms in design.
However, you don't always get an ocean view from these villas. The one I toured had lush vegetation all around and felt very private. If you want an ocean view, book the ocean view Inn rooms for your stay there. But if you want more space, go with the 1 bedroom.
Here's a pic of the room I toured :

Hmmmm...can you request an ocean view room?

The VB 1BR are very spacious! As previous posters have said they are more like OKW and very 'unlike" BWV VWL etc...

If you do get a 1 BR your chances are better than average of having an Ocean View. All the dedicated 2 BRs are towards the back of the Villas away from the ocean. Request and upper floor!

I love the Inn rooms don't get me wrong but the conveniece of the kitchen and ESPECIALLY the Washer and Dryer make 'Beach Life' real easy! :rotfl2:

Yes....they are a couple more points per night...but well worth it. You make the ressie as "ocean view". MS should tell you at time of reservation whether it would be available or not.
I was not aware that you had a better-than-average chance at getting a ocean view with the 1 bedrooms as Mahuskey stated. That would be the ideal situation for you to book. Large room and ocean view :thumbsup2

We love the 1 bedroom units at Vero. Very spacious which adds to the relaxing atmosphere of the resort. The washer and dryer are especially nice to have at the beach.

You can request an ocean view 1 bedroom, but it's just that -- a request. Our only real request is for non smoking. Our preference is to be in either building 12 or 15 -- these are not close to the pool and we like the added quiet.

With the inn rooms, there is a separate category for ocean view.

We had a third floor 1brm a couple years ago with a awesome ocean view. We are booked for May with a Inn room with an Ocean view for next May. We did a garden Inn room view this year, and I have to admit I didn't miss having the kitchen or washer/dryer at all. I was worried I would. We found the small fridge and mircowave was enough. The laundry is free in the Inn, and I never had to wait for a washer or dryer the whole week we were there.

We stayed in and Ocean View Inn Room this past June and it was wonderful and the view was great. There was plenty of room for 4 of us too, but next yr we will book a 1 bedroom so we can cook breakfast and lunch in our room. Dinner will be out every night but I love not having to rush to go down to eat breakfast and to come back from the pool or ocean and have a quick bite to eat for lunch.

Hi, Thanks for asking and posting. :thumbsup2 I have never stayed at VB but this thread really makes me want to give it a try! Joan

We stayed at a 1BR last summer sunday thru Friday and loved it. We didn't have an ocean view, but did hear the ocean and we walked right out to the pathway that let to the inn and beach. We did hear the ocean from our villa. I agree that the size was bigger than WDW, laundry was great for beach stuff and it was nice to have a bigger place to get back to for breaks from the heat. Lots of activities there, but we would eat, go to the beach , go to the pool and play monopoly in the room to get a break from the heat. Loved it and can't wait to go back! Think you should go and give it a try. We are headed to WDW in 10 days since we were only there for 5 days before our VB trip last summer. Have fun!

We just stayed in a 1 bed in May - loved it! It was huge! We had a first floor unit, I was a little bummed, but it was a really great room with a huge patio. We had room 1215.

It looked to me like alot of the big villas did NOT face the ocean (only 6 in each building faced the ocean if you do not count the studios and 2 of them were on the first floor). I would think you would have a greater chance of not getting an ocean view.

For this reason (and shortage of points ;) ) I have booked an ocean view inn room for October. I thought VB was fabulous!!
