Grandson 17 is on our plan and his first phone after having it a few months, screen starts blinking, going in and out, we take it back to the store 2 days ago. They replace it and tell us that they did have problems with these phones that some of them the battery was somehow messing up the phones that it was not all of them just some of those models. Grandson calls us same night (this was after hours for the store) said phone screen blinked a couple of times, few hours later it seems fine. Last night his screen goes completely out he takes it back to the store today after work & they tell him it is a pressure crack not covered by warranty and they can't replace the phone. WHAT? He does not put the phone in his pocket at all, no one dropped it or sat on it. It is obvious that it was a bad phone.
DH calls main Verizon and they give him the run around, tell him to send it in and they may or may not cover it, then they try to sell him a refurbished phone for $100, ummm no thanks, after 2 pieces of junk we are not spending $100 more for another one.
When we got this plan and phones we told the salesman we wanted the insurance on the phones, he said he put it on there but somehow did not, (our fault) we didn't realize it until too late to bring it too his attention or add it on.

Tomorrow we are going to the store and ask to speak with a manager.

I have nothing but dislike for Verizon. Wireless, FIOS, home phone and internet.

We cancelled the last of it last month.
I will no longer deal with a company that passes the buck, and refuses to accept blame.

(they cut off our service 5 days before our 'scheduled' upgrade install date. and no one had authority to turn it back on?!?!? )

ETA : and YES... the account was paid up to date. They just rescheduled our install date....without telling anyone... us or even their own company.

Huh, my DD14 has had her phone since November, it stopped charging so we exchanged it with NO problems at all. DBF and myself kept having issues with our phones shutting down randomely, mostly DBF's phone but mine did a time or two as well, we took them in and got brand new ones right away. And we do NOT have insurance. Verizon phones have a 1 year warranty so if they break you can exchange them, I would definitely go back and talk to the manager. I've been with Verizon for about 10 years and never had anything but great service from them.

Go to the store with the original receipt, be polite and ask for a manager. Return the phone. Get a different phone. If the phone is only a week old it must be returnable. Just remember you catch more flies with honey, and be direct. Just stay there insisting they replace the phone as long as necessary without yelling or being nasty. Eventually new customers will come in & hear this discussion and the store will want you to leave happy and quickly. They will eventually replace it.

I bought a washing machine, had it delivered & they took away our old one. The new one didnt work & they wanted to send a repairman out and would not let me return it! I was like come get this thing and bring me a new one! "That was not their policy" Accepting broken washing machines is against my policy. I eventually got a new one. You just have to keep insisting politely that they do it.

If it is BROKEN when you buy it you need a new one. If you repair it, it is just going to break again.

Just curious, if he doesn't carry it in his pocket how does he carry it?
