Any Verizon insiders out there?! I can upgrade my phone now and am interested in the DROID. They have the incredible and 2 as buy one get one.

I have heard they will have the iPhone sometime in 2011. At first they said jan but then i heard later.

I have a BB that is on its last leg. The trackball works 75% of the time but it locks up a lot and randomly dials people! My patience are gone with it but if Verizon is going to release new droids, lower prices or release an iPhone in Jan i'll wait. I can handle it a month or 2 but not much longer.

i do not want to switch networks, my husband is on his own plan paid through work and is verizon.

I can't talk about the Droid, but we were waiting for Verizon to introduce a decent Windows Phone, and finally gave up waiting, and switched to AT&T.

Not an insider, but IMO if you are waiting for the iPhone, don't bother. The DROID is every bit as good. I have the Incredible and I can't say enough about it. Even if Verizon offered the iPhone, I'd stick with my DROID. I say go for it :thumbsup2

I would wait until after next week when new phones are revealed at CES 2011. At this point I would wait until next week when details are know about LTE based phones, and you can decide if you want to do that or buy an existing phone on the old data plan.

Unrelated to Verizon specifically, Android 3.0/2.4/Honeycomb will be announced which will be a significant upgrade and you may want to wait for phones on any carrier that offer that. Upgrades to 3.0 from the current 2.2 phones are not guaranteed.

By the end of next week you will know a lot, and current phones may be discounted further depending on when new phones will show up.

I LOVE my Droid HTC Incredible, way more so than my DFiance's iPhone. I like to play with my phone features and change them a lot, something that you can't do as well with an iPhone. You can do pretty much anything you want with a Droid. A lot of people refer to a Droid as a iPhone-Blackberry hybrid.

I don't know when new phones are scheduled to come out though. I've heard January, March, and later. It sounds better than it has before (in terms of rumors and credibility) but not enough for me. I needed a new phone (I was dying to ditch my BB Storm) and I really didn't want to wait. Plus, it's only going to be the iPhone 4, not that it's not great but I when I upgrade, if it's with an iPhone, I want a newest version.

Maybe you already knew this, but I didn't -- To take advantage of the Buy One Get One, both users have to be on the same account.

I wanted a new phone, and my SIL wanted a new phone, but we are not on the same account. So when I bought a new phone, I couldn't get the free one for her.

Yes, and the other person has to be eligible for an upgrade. The last time I was eligible, I waited until ds was ready (to take advantage of the B1G1), and they ended up sending me a $100 off coupon. Hold out as long as you can, to see if they offer anything else when you don't upgrade right away.

I have the Droid Incredible and love it. The only thing it can't do that the iphone can is play movies that I have on my itunes. However, for web browsing, the Incredible is better because it supports flash.

I agree, the Droids are equal or better than the IPhone. The Droid X is very similar in size and functionality. I LOVE my Droid.

Get the droid - they're very similar to the iphone and are currently outselling the iphone. :)

DH and I were having the same dilemma and when my SIXTH BlackBerry finally bit the dust we finally decided to go for it. We each got a Droid X. We've been VERY happy with them. I do wish it had Netflix, but I hear that's in the works anyway. I think by the time we're up for new phones again, the 4G phones should really be up and running.

We LOVE our iPods and Mac computer but we also like Verizon's service. Plus our phones were just about to kick the bucket anyway. Couldn't wait much longer! Go Droid! Most Droid owners I know say the same.

I LOVE my Droid and Verizon service..

Just last week we upgraded two of our phones on Verizon with Motorola Droid 2's. We chose the 2 for the slide out keyboard. One was discounted and the second was free + we get a $10 per month credit per line upgraded for 24 months. The phones are awsome. Upgraded from Samsung Alias 2's.
