Disney+ on us: Verizon to give customers 12 months of Disney+
October 22, 2019
Exclusive wireless carrier partner to offer customers a year of Disney+
  • On November 12, Verizon will begin offering 12 months of Disney+ to all new and existing 4G LTE and 5G unlimited wireless customers
  • New Verizon Fios Home Internet and 5G Home Internet customers can also enjoy 12 months of Disney+ on us
  • Verizon customers can enjoy everything Disney+ has to offer, including high-quality and commercial-free viewing, up to four concurrent streams, downloads for offline viewing, personalized recommendations, and the ability to set up to seven different profiles
NEW YORK and BURBANK, Calif., Oct. 22, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Verizon and The Walt Disney Company’s Direct-to-Consumer and International segment announced a wide-ranging agreement that will offer all Verizon wireless unlimited customers, new Fios Home Internet and 5G Home Internet customers 12 months of Disney+. Set to launch on November 12, Disney+ will be the dedicated streaming home for movies and shows from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and more. The agreement will allow Verizon Wireless customers to stream Disney+ on the largest, most reliable network1 and provide yet another reason for customers to choose Verizon for the best content choices available.
Eligible Verizon customers will have access to the highly anticipated streaming service where they can experience everything Disney+ has to offer: never-before-seen original programming including feature-length films, series, documentaries, and short-form content made exclusively for Disney+, along with unprecedented access to Disney’s vast collection of films and television shows. In its first year alone, Disney+ will release more than 25 original series and 10 original films and documentaries, including “The Mandalorian,” from executive producer and writer Jon Favreau, and “Lady and the Tramp,” a timeless re-telling of the 1955 animated classic.
“Giving Verizon customers an unprecedented offer and access to Disney+ on the platform of their choice is yet another example of our commitment to provide the best premium content available through key partnerships on behalf of our customers,” said Verizon Chairman and CEO Hans Vestberg. “Our work with Disney extends beyond Disney+ as we bring the power of 5G Ultra Wideband technology to the entertainment industry through exciting initiatives with Disney Innovation Studios and in the parks,” he added.
“The launch of Disney+ kicks off a new era of streaming for The Walt Disney Company, bringing nearly a century’s worth of content from our iconic studios to consumers directly,” said Kevin Mayer, Chairman, Direct-to-Consumer & International, The Walt Disney Company. “We’re excited to share this moment with Verizon and bring Disney+ to the millions of customers across its award-winning wireless network.”
The Specifics:
In tandem with the Disney+ November 12 launch, Verizon will become the exclusive wireless carrier to offer 12 months of Disney+ to all new and existing 4G LTE and 5G unlimited wireless customers. Verizon will also offer 12 months of Disney+ to its new Fios Home Internet and 5G Home Internet customers.
At launch, Verizon customers can activate their Disney+ subscription and start streaming on a wide selection of mobile and connected TV devices, including gaming consoles, streaming media players, and smart TVs.

So glad I passed on the D23 subscription now, this is the deal I was waiting for! 1 year FREE!

I don’t have Verizon but they should of let people know ahead of time before a lot of them already got Disney plus for three years or whatever.

Absolutely. I am a Verizon customer, however I don't use an unlimited plan, so this wouldn't have worked for me, but it would have been nice to see all the options.

Saw this on their site...

People who already pre-ordered the Disney+ service are still eligible. The “purchase will be put on pause and resume after the Verizon promo period”

Interesting....

Has anyone else tried to sign up for this? The signup link had me enter my email address, but I haven’t gotten an email about it yet. Wondering if I just sit and wait now?

You can't sign up until the 12th of November I believe. However it's not a requirement to have 5G unlimited. You can be a Fios customer, a 5G customer, or an unlimited VZ wireless customer to qualify. Also this promotion is cool since it applies to actual existing customers and not just new subs.

Same thing happened to me. I guess we wait to hear from them.

Almost a year now and I paid for Disney plus for 3 years back in Sept of 2019. Found out about verizon offer 1 year free in Nov of 2019 and applied the offer. I am still waiting for my next bill date to change to show the extra year. On hold for over 230 minutes with Disney Plus. I have chatted and called many times before and they said my next bill date would be adjusted. Anyone having luck with this offer?

I didn’t sign up before the free offer and so I got the free year. I’ve been getting emails that my year is over and they’re going to start adding the Disney+ charge to my Verizon bill.

Called this morning at 7:00am less than five min wait told Bill date will be adjusted sometime after verizon offer has expired.

I got the 3 yr D23 subscription at a reduced rate, added the 1 yr verizon subscription. Next bill date should reflect 12 Nov 2023 but still shows 2022. Called about it and my next bill date at D+ indicates 2099. It looks like if you have a certain plan with Verizon you get continuous D+. D+ wasn't sure they are checking with Verizon. They did offer a refund of my 3 yr plan if Verizon offer is true.

Anyone else see this yet?
